This was the first time I had been to the Pembroke. The restaurant was lively and welcoming and the starters, mussels, deep fried brie and baked mushrooms were pleasant enough. However, there were already minor niggles and they only got worse: *the bread had been cut some time ago and although not stale had become dried out. *To get a glass of water or a top up you had to seek out a staff member and specifically ask. *We ordered wine which was dumped onto the table while the waitress muttered something and walked away. *For the main course 2 guests ordered Plaice with a sun dried tomato salsa and I ordered monkfish with a plum, pineapple and cucumber salsa - all from the specials board. The description promised something fresh and tangy but what arrived was fish in a very average white sauce, served on roast root vegetables (I assume they were roasted, though there was no colour to be seen). The salsa was not present on any dish. *Upon mentioning to the waitress the manager was called over and preceded to claim that we were all mistaken and the salsa was indeed there! *after being asked to point it out he conceded it wasn't there and went to get some, returning with 2 pots of plum salsa and no sun dried tomato salsa. At the end of dinner we were not charged for the wine due to the errors made, however, I (and having asked them, my guests) would not eat at the Pembroke again.

I went for dinner last friday night and the place was bustling and hustling!!! No wonder why! We were shown to our table by the Maitre D who introduced us to our waitress. She was professional and bubbly. We didn't have starters as we weren't really hungry but we had a lovely steak and the traditional fish and chips. The quality of the food was second to none, the fish was really fresh and the presentation of the plates really good! We decided then to have desserts and they were amazing! We ordered the cheesecake as apparently is their speciality and the baileys creme brulee... The cheesecake was to die for and the creme brulee was cooked to perfection, with a lovely baileys hint. The restaurant is modern and tastefully decorated and the chairs are super comfortable, we could almost feel that we were glued to them. We weren't rushed in any moment so we had plenty of time to enjoy our coffees after the desserts. Definitely recommendable, 10/10 for the service, food and ambience!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The pasta was truly delicious and hubby enjoyed his traditional fish and chips too. The Bailey's souffle served in a chocolate shell was light and tasty. The restaurant was very busy (for a Thursday evening) and the early-bird value was excellent. Will definitely return.

Went here for dinner with a group of 10 people. Place looked very busy, but still service was very good. Had seafood cocktail for starter, nice but too much sweet chilli sauce in the mix for my liking. Had rack of lamb for main course, was gorgeous, decent portion. For dessert had fruity creme brullee, unique and tasty. Friendly staff.

I went here as part of a package (2B&B + 1D) and had dinner on a Sunday. The restaurant was very busy and was really nice. Our waiter was prompt and professional. Found the dinner amazing - I had goats cheese salad to start and my friend had the chowder. Both were delish. Then we both had the minute beef for main which was very tasty - only wish for more of that red jus sauce. The desert was the best bit - berry creme brule - we just about didn't lick out plates. All in all a lovely experience :) will be back someday.

In Cork for the weekend, and had dinner as part of a package, at The Pembroke. the hotel itself is okay in a very old school way, but the restaurant is a big disappointment. My starter, Carrot and Ginger soup, was promising - it was fresh, full of flavor, and our served with a wonderful bread but sadly, things went down from here on in. My main course, Chicken, was so bland - just over a week on, I'm struggling to remember anything about it, apart from the fact that it's skin looked rather cremated. My partner ordered pasta, and it was also completely bland, overcooked and somewhat soggy. A side order of vegetables looked and tasted as if they had come straight out of 70's Ireland...When will hotels in ireland learn that serving up this sort of thing is just no longer acceptable??

Went here with a group of 6 for lunch break on a Saturday. We had mostly sandwiches and soup as we didn't have much time. Service wasn't very friendly. Maybe they were disappointed that we didn't order anything bigger/more expensive. The food was OK but nothing special. Overall my impression wasn't great and I don't think I'll hurry back.

Went here for dinner and was pleasantly suprised! There's a great variety on the menu and the food is prepared and served with the highest quality. Great for a group or a romantic meal.

My wife & I dined here as it was part of our 3-day stay, and invited our son & girlfriend to join us. I was glad of them coming along as we were the only diners there for 8pm on a midweek evening. However, the restaurant does a great range of sauces accompanying main courses such as tarragon which I asked for with my steak, while my wife delighted in the champagne & chive offering with the Leomon Sole. The girfriends salmon fillet was a huge portion, as was the roast beef for our son, with no shortage of crunchy vegetables & chunky chips. Yes, a splendid meal, but it went cool too quick due to the excessive air-conditioning, which kept our jackets and sweaters on. Maybe they expected more diners! Breakfasts there are also superb, as you choose your own makeup of the traditional Irish breakfast from the hot plates. The staff even made one up for me to bring back to my wife who had stayed in bed. You won't be disappointed and the dinner menus are very reasonably priced for what is a very upmarket hotel.

Dined with a party of 7 on a Fri night & it had a lovely buzz about the place. The staff were very friendly & helpful. All 7 were very pleased with their food and the avocado starter was to die for! Will definately be back.

I love the style of thr Pembroke, very modern but in a nice way and its a great contrast with the old stlye of the hotel. We ate from the set menu as part of a dinner/B&B package. Our meal was lovely and portions were huge. The house white was a bit on the warm side and the waitress didn't seem to register this as an issue, but did provide an ice bucket with the bottle. Our main waiter was so friendly and helpful, he compensated for her! We were too full for dessert so asked for Irish coffees instead which we got, big thumbs up:) I like it!
