My partner & I were in Cork for a weekend recently, we were looking for somewhere to eat and looked up Menu Pages for advice on a good restaurant in Cork City Club Brasserie was first on the list, having read the previous reviews we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. It was a cold wet Monday evening in Cork and there was just two other people in the restaurant when we arrived but that didn't take away form the lovely cosy atmosphere that Club Brasserie has. We went for the Prix Fixe Menu which is priced at €25.00 each: We shared the Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms which were divine and served piping hot with a lovely dressing/sauce. I had the Mildly Spiced Chicken Curry and my Partner had the Fish & Chips, again the presentation and taste was wonderful. For dessert we shared the Iced Meringue Gateau with lemon curd again presentation and taste was just amazing. A glass of house wine each was included in the price. Well done to the Chef and Staff of this Restaurant we had a wonderful meal and a lovely night.

Great nite, lovely atmosphere, fabulous food. No complaints from our table of 11! My filet steak was cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef. Will definitely return again soon.

Went along to this restaurant on Saturday eveinng last with 3 of my friends for a birthday treat. It was my 3rd visit there and my friend's 1st. We got 2 Calamari starters and shared them between 3 of us. They were unbelievable. They were crispy on the outside and so beautiful and tender ont the insde. The dip was out of this world. There was silence around the table as we enjoyed every bite. I would highly recommend this starter. I had Swordfish that was cooked to perfection. Very very tasty. I had a sample of my friends Chicken Curry, it was simply delicious. What can I say about my other friends Fusilli, so fresh and bursting with flavour. Compliments to the Chef whoever he or she is. Fantastic. The prices were great and very resonable. There was a fantastic atmosphere and friendly ambience. The staff were so efficient and helpful. They couldnt do enough for us. We were delighted with the service. We had a fantastic night and will be returning ASAP for another mouth watering meal. I would 110% recommed this restaurant to anyone. We loved it. 10 out 10 for Food, Service and Decor.

Lovely evening in this restaurant. Though we were in early, there was a lovely atmosphere even though it wasnt busy. Friendly staff with good knowledge of gluten free dishes. Apparently the owner has a coeliac daughter and is very careful to have good gluten free options. There was 3 of us, 2 went for the fixe prix menu and 1 from the a la carte. Everything was extremely tasty and with a lovely bottle of house wine our bill came in at under €100. Would recommend this restaurant especially if you are coeliac.

Absolutely dreadful. Dont go to this restaurant. It was almost a year since I was last here and what a difference!!! First of all the price on line is Prix fixee €20.95. We were charged €25.00 and for what? I had the chicken curry, which looked like the scrapings of plates from yesterday and tasted dreadful. Complained and not even a "sorry" for my trouble. Toilets were in a terrible state, so you can see now why I wont be back.

Ate in the Club Brasserie on Thursday Night. It was my first time in the Restaurant & it won't b my last. We had a fantastic time. Loved the decor & the buzz. Great Menu with lots of choice though we went for their fixed menu for €25 per person which included a glass of wine for me and a Pint for himself! The food was delicious I had stuffed mushrooms with feta & a lovely mayonnaise with pesto & he had some homemade pate. For maincourse we both had the minute steak which was cooked perfectly with a great pepper sauce. I had a lovely chocolate brownie to finish with hot chocolate sauce and vanilla icecream. The service was friendly & the manager or maybe the owner was so friendly to us and checked to see that we enjoyed our night. It was a great experience all round and for a fantastic price.

i went here a while ago, and found that it had very limited options for vegetarians, on the day i went the only option was a cesar salad or another salad minus the meat, not very filling and was still charged full price even though it was without the chicken

I went to this restaurant with a group of 10 people for Womens Little Christmas on the 6th of January. I found that the wine list was not great, the nicer wines being a but pricey. The food was superb though. We were offered a set menu, and an ordinary menu. The food was beautifully cooked. Would def recommend the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert, Delicious.

Went for the "Dine in cork" menu which was €25 for a 3 course meal. Starter and main course were lovely, although could have done with some veg!! Dessert was disappointing, meringue was very hard, tasted like one you would buy in a box!! Atmosphere and service was excellent. Would recommend!! Cant work the star rating!! Would give an average of 4.5

Went here during dine in Cork week with a couple of friends. The food was amazing, only problem we had was that there was only one desert to choose from. Their pate is amazing, definitely recommend it.the steak was cooked perfectly. The desert was nice but not something I would normally choose. The service was quite good, there was always someone close by in case we needed anything. The staff were very friendly also. The restaurant started to get busy as the meal went on. There is always a really nice atmosphere here and very comfortable surroundings. As it was dine in Cork week, it was very reasonably price. I would definitely recommend the Club Brasserie to others.

Ate here for a graduation dinner. I had never been there before but had heard good things. As there were many of us there, there were a load of different things ordered, but everyone loved what they had. I had wings and a steak and they were absolutely beautiful. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce and chips and salad were all just so nice. Others had fish, burgers, chicken and steak and all loved it. There was a nice atmosphere in there and service was brilliant. The waitresses were so helpful and the owner even came to us to help one of our party who is coeliac. The owner explained all the dishes to her so that she knew what was best for her. Prices not so bad either. Steak was sbout 28 euro i think, but it was well worth it. Will definitely be returning!

Ate at this restaurant for a graduation lunch. Had high expectations as we had eaten there numerous times in the past and had never been disappointed. The service was very friendly and efficient from the outset. The Lunch menu was diverse without being too complicated, all the dishes were simple with with high quality ingredients. I had the seared beef salad which was beautifully served with blue cheese and onion rings. Others in the group had roasted cod, salmon and potato cakes, roasted chicken and the club burger and they were all delighted. The only quibble was with the chocolate sundae dessert which didnt live up to expectations. Otherwise we were really happy and will definately be back!

We hadn't been here for dinner for about 2 years and it was every bit as good as the last time. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. Good atmosphere, nice and relaxed so you can sit and enjoy your meal. There is a good choice on the menu, just enough to choose from and it all sounds very appealling. My husband and I had steak and we both asked for rare. It was slightly overdone and a bit dry but that is the only negative point of the night. We will definitely be back as it is worth every cent!

My husband ate from the early bird and I from the al a carte. Both had great choices and were good value. I couldn't fault the food in any way, the atmosphere was great as was the service. And full on a Wednesday night! During dine in Cork week but nonetheless, a good sign

A friend of ours was coming to Cork for the night and she describes herself as a Semi Vegetarian. Lots of restaurants are not open on Monday nights so this was our 4th choice. I have been here before and was pleased but on this occasion I was disapppointed. They had the Dine in Cork offer of 3 courses for 25 euro on still so we all went for this. I had Chicken liver pate for starter and it was nice, my friend went for a dish with Portobllo mushroom in it but it mostly a big lump of bread, small amount of mushroom and 2 tough bacon. For mains I had Fish and chips on Pea Puree, a bit greasy. Another in party had lamb chops and they were tough. For dessert we all had Eton Mess but it was too sweet for me as there was a syrup type thing drizzled all over. I think maybe the quality that I had sampled before is slipping.

What a fantastic night we had here. There were 8 of us in the party. The Early Bird Menu was excellent and 7 of the 8 of us went for that. Great Value and the Staff were fantastic - paying us great attention and "service with a smile" We will be back soon. Thanks for a great night.

Went here the other night for a work outing. There was a large group of us. Overall it was a pleasant experience. I ordered from the table d'hote menu and i had calamari and steak. Everthing was nice but nothing spectacular. It was efficent service considering there was a large group of us and another large group who ordered at the same time. Its not a place id recommend for a romantic meal but it was good for a large group. Food was hearty and the portions were generous but I think the dishes lacked imagination..

Two of us went for dinner and really enjoyed our experience in a lively atmosphere! The food was lovely - we had starters followed by pork and seabass, both of which were very good. I didn't feel rushed, which I appreciate, and there was plenty of time between courses/plates being cleared. The woman who greeted us and the waiter who served us were polite and friendly. On the downside, however, we were seated by a woman who virtually snatched the menus from us, demanded that we leave our coats at the bar and was unnecessarily brusque. The toilets could have done with a once-over. Doesn't take much to replace toilet roll! The price was also bordering on the steep side for a fairly limited menu.

Had a great night last week, 4 of us went in for a bite to eat on Friday to celebrate some great news! The night was excellent from start to finish. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and my girlfriend had duck which she loved. The place was packed, but the service and atmosphere were still great. Well recommend The Club Brasserie

We had dinner in here on Saturday night and it was so tasty. I had a crab brulee to start and my boyfiend had the pate, both really nice. We both had steak for mains, well cooked with lovely sides and sauce. For desert I had the crumble and my partner had the sticky toffee pudding, really nice. The service staff were lovely and I will definately be returning the next time I'm in Cork!

It's safe to say that I will never return to this restaurant ever again. We had a dismal night out there, having invited friends from Dublin down, we thought the Braserie was a safe bet...how wrong we were. The starters were adequate, I had a goats cheese dish which was nothing special. The mains arrived shortly after, both my partner and friend from Dublin had ordered fillet steaks, neither had been cooked correctly. We subsequently sent them back to the kitchen for the chefs to have another go, receiving no word of apology from the waiting staff incidently. When the newly cooked steaks arrived thirty minutes later (for a rare and a medium steak????) both myself and the other member of our party had finished our meal. The 'medium' steak was of course over-cooked, the rare was almost raw, and was stone cold in the middle. We were absolutely apalled to be told that "that's the way we cook them here". The manager offered no apology, was very rude on the contrary, telling us that everybody else liked the restaurant, and two weeks later we are still wating for the owner to contact us, as the manager on duty promised that night. When the bill came I was charged once again for a forty euro bottle of prosecco that I had already paid for. We were all totally unimpressed. (My rating only seems high as the rating system will not work presently.)

Definitely one of Cork's best at the moment. Went there on Saturday for a family birthday for my first time, I had heard great things about Club Brasserie from friends and was not disappointed. First of all the service is the best I have experienced in Cork. The staff are very knowledgable about both the food and the wine, and are also extremely nice, friendly and informative without being any way overbearing. The food is lovey too, there was eight of us at the meal and we shared starters (fishcakes and lamb were deemed fantastic, the mozarella was okay) and all had different mains each of which every single person enjoyed immensley. There was also a recomnded red and white wine to try on a leaflet at the table, and we had the red. It was absolutely gorgeous and at only 16.95 a bottle fantastic value so that was a nice little touch too. I hope Club Brasserie continue to keep tup the fantastic job they are doing. I will defintiely be back.

I usually love this restaurant but I feel that the mid week special is to bbe avoided. Went here prior to a visit to the theattre and ordered ffrom the 20.95 prix fixe menu and we were disapppointed. The choice available is limited and I woould expect that but a choice of either soup or caesar salad to start and main course of either salmon cakes or minute steak is rather limiting. A glass of red/white is also included so it is good value. We both had the caesar salad and it was adequate- cos letttuce- croutons- nice dressing -what more could you want. We both had the salmon cakes as main. Two salmon cakes are served on a plate swimming with sauce (I saw another table requestiing no sauce so clearly they have eaten here before). No complaint wiith the sauce but the salmon cakes hhad tthe consistency of pureed baby food and were encased in a hard crust- so hard tthat with tthe sauce swimming about the plate care was needed if one was not to spend the evening with a splattering of sauce down ones front. The salmon "bombs" were served with what must be the tiniest salad bown known to catering. Why? the salad would had looked better and the portion would have been adequate on a small plate. We will be back here again but will someone revamp this prix-fixe menu please!

I went to the Club Brasserie on the off chance that they would have a table for 2 on friday the 13th. Although we couldn't be seated straight away, we were assured that a table would be available in less than ten minutes, which was fine as we enjoyed having a drink in the bar first. i ordered the Fish & Chips and my boyfriend had the Pork Belly...We didnt order any specials but i just love the way they bring the cute little specials board over to each table. Our food was delicious!!! My fish and chips were like nothing i EVER tasted before, my friend who had been at the 'taste of cork' had told me already that the fish and chips were to die for..the batter was so light, and although i dont really care for pea puree..i have to say i cleared the plate. there was a really lovely mix of people in the restaurant - young and old and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff are really friendly as well... We will absolutely be back!!!

A five star event, really special,my hubby and I just dropped in to a busy restaurant and were looked after wonderfully by the staff, great menu with a mouthwatering Specials board from which my hubby ordered John Dory; It arrived beautifully cooked and presented. My Fillet Steak was exactly as requested,my knife just glided through and the most wonderful Bearnaise sauce accompanied,a sauce that was made to perfection, you could taste the tarragon Vinegar and the fresh herbs.A fresh salad porperly dressed and "home made" french fries that Gordon Ramsey would die for completed my main course. Also they have a nice range of half bottles of both Red and White wines,a great idea for couples with differing wine tastes...And then the coffee a perfect espresso and a creamy cappuccino !!!!

Myself and my boyfriend visited the Club Brasserie on a recommendation of my parents for Valentines night. The restaurant was perfect for the night that was in it. We had a wonderful time Both of us had starters and maincourses and it was all delicious. We had a great bottle of wine which the waitress recommended and it wasn't an expensive wine. Loved the decor and the red roses on the tables were lovely. We will most definetely be back.

I chose to go to Club Brasserie because I heard positive things about the place. I was aware that it was a little pricey but if the food was good in return, I would not mind. I was therefore surprised when our dining experience was very disappointing. I was eager to prove to my Dublin companions that Cork could rival the Pale in terms of quality restaurants, but how wrong was I! Our crab "creme brulee" starters contained virtually no crab, and were a strange concoction which can only be described as scrambled egg mess! The people who ordered steaks had to send them back as they were done to the wrong temperature. No apology from management was offered for this mistake, and it was left to our waitress to apologise. The Duck Confit failed to fall off the bone, and flageolot beans that accompanied it were laced in garlic, a fact omitted in the description on the menu. When we pointed this out at our complaint at the end, a member of management haughtily told us that this was the way it was meant to be done, in case we were ignorant in the ways of fine dining! The salads accompanying our mains were drenched in a greasy dressing and were sub standard in the extreme. The solely positive thing about our visit was the wine and it pretty much got us through this shambles of a meal! What was most galling about our evening was the Club Brasserie attempted to charge us full whack for the meal when clearly it was less than adequate, only reducing it when we complained. This left more than a bitter taste (if you pardon the pun!) in our mouths as we felt that the management were hoping to rely on the old Irish habit of failing to complain about a bad meal. Perhaps if there had been more attention paid to the quality of the food as there had to the beautiful decor, then I might be writing a better review, but on this occasion Cork failed to prove to its most oldest of rivals that it too can be considered a real competitor in terms of good food and good value for same.

We went there for lunch and the food was fabulous. Lots of choices and good value. The only negative comments are that the tables in the middle were quite close to each other and the service was very slow but I will go back.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice! The restaurant is really warm and inviting & we all loved the decor, The staff were so helpful and friendly. We opted to have a drink at the bar first and the place was hopping. We then went to our table. We all ordered different things from the menu & it was all delicious but a special mention for the fish & chips 10 out of 10. Good wine list at affordable prices. We all loved our food. Drank way to much but enjoyed every minute of it. We had a great night & would recommend the place to everyone. I will definetely be back.Only negative it is very hard to get a table at the weekends so book early.

This was my first time eating at Club Brasserie. The menu was lovely and I was very disapointed to find that the one suitable veggie option on the menu was not in fact available. While my family got the fish & chips I was given a salad with 3 bits of cherry tomato, a small bit of feta cheese and loads of letttuce all liberally doused in an awful yoghurt dressing. I ate barely any of it and even though I spoke to the waitress about it she simply said I'll let chef know that dressing does not go with feta for the future. I was charged €10 for the pleasure which is a lot for lettuce! The waiter was lovely and very helpful and whil the waitress was very vague she was cheerful. Not such a good choice for veggies but the fish & chips were good I believe!

I have eaten there twice, the first time was with a group of 9 people and the food was only ok nothing special. The last time I went there I had fish which was beautifully presented, but it was very salty. Now I really like salt but this was just way too much. The portion sizes were tiny, just a couple of spoons of potato and about six mange tout and about half a carrot. I was still hungry leaving the table. Overall I thought it was overpriced.

Went for an early bird last Saturday and had a great time. The best fish and chips I had in Ireland in years. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It could be rated as fine dining if they would get rid of the paper table cloths....but damn good food.

Went there 2 weeks ago and I have to say we were completely disappointed with the whole thing. The room is like a big dormitory, all the pupils lined up in a row so to speak and the prices were astronomical for the food that was served. The menu was limited to say the least and the food was rather basic . Portions were small and whereas that was ok with me my husband was left with no other option only to order more veg/potato. It was pathetic. Will not go back again . I don't mind paying for good food but this was rip off Ireland personified.

Went to the Club Brasserie for dinner with 4 friends. We had a fantastic night. The restaurant was buzzing! The food was really lovely, good menu choice and we were pleasantly surprised at the prices. There was something there for everyone. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Have to say it was one of the nicest evenings we have had in a long time and we will definitely be back.

I have gone to the restaurant for dinner twice and go for lunch once every two weeks. I went for dinner on the 29th of March with another couple. I have to say it was one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time. We all had starters and main courses and everything was delicious.

Went to Club Brasserie for a meal to celebrate my sister’s engagement. The overall meal was only ok. The service was terrible. The girl who took our order slammed the specials board down for us to read. Then when the starters were brought started to shout at us 'who's having soup’, felt like we were in a pub having pub grub. She took our order so as far as I'm concerned it should be her job to know who ordered what. Her waitressing skills were really bad (she was Irish) and did not suit the style of restaurant Club Brasserie wants to portray. Really big room and even with a group found it hard to hear ourselves speak. Food was only all right. Won't be going back in a hurry and they should seriously sort out their waiting staff!!!

I have eaten here twice, the first time was not so great, I ordered a chicken dish that was accompanied with Clonakilty black pudding and the pudding was over cooked and crispy!! The second visit was much better, I would recommend the Steak and Mushroom pie and if you have a sweet tooth the Sticky Toffee Pudding is a must!!

I went to the Club Brasserie last Saturday night and I have to say I had a great time. We arrived early at quarter to nine and had a glass of champagne first at the bar before being seated at nine. I just loved the crab crème brulee as my starter; I never heard of it before and have to say it was delicious. For my main I ordered the Seared Brochette of Lamb which was very tender and the red wine sauce with it was, in my opinion, a fantastic choice. The restaurant in general was buzzing and there was a lot of glamour. I felt it really was the place to be seen that night! I went with 3 friends and we have already booked it again for our next night out!

Had a lovely lunch here with friends last week, food and service were both great. Goats cheese salad was especially very good, great coffee and brown bread too! Only fault was manageress, who was a little unfriendly.

I decided to take my mum to the Brasserie for mother's day for a nice meal. Our meal was at 6pm. The choice on the menu isn't good for dinner, think it is better for lunch. We did have v good service, our waitress was lovely. However I was extremely disappointed that when we got to the desserts, 50% of them were gone! I have a v sweet tooth and always look forward to the desserts the most. The desserts that were left- I didn't like them. I complained to the supervisor who was on duty at the time but she laughed at me! She said that because they had so many people during the day, all the desserts were gone. However 99% of these people prebooked their meal, obviously the supervisor or chef can't count and could not match the demand to their supply!!! I have decided not to go again as I was extremely disappointed particularly for my Mum who was really looking forward to the meal.

A really nice stylish room but the food let it down badly. Went as a party of four and all agreed that the quality of the food was a let down. For mains we had steaks, scampi and lamb but felt that the quality of the food should have been better for the prces being charged. I will give it anohter shot as we may have just hit it on an off night for the kitchen.

I went to the Club Brasserie with work last Friday night. There were 11 of us there in total I think. We had heard mixed reviews so we were looking forward to seeing what it would be like. Firstly, the decor and the atmosphere there is great. We were all able to hear one another without filtering noise from other tables nearby. The biggest disappointment was probably the fact that because we were a larger group, they gave us a set menu. We did not know that before we got there and the choice on the set menu was very limited. To start, I had what was described on the menu as the breaded goats cheese with tomato and chilli relish. What I got was goats cheese on toast with pesto. Don't get me wrong, it was lovely but it wasn't what I thought I was getting. For my main I had the duck, which was lovely. The meat was falling of the bone. I always worry with duck about it being fatty but it wasn't at all. A few of the girls got the steak but it wasn't cooked to their preferences which was also a bit disappointing. For dessert there were only two choices for us. On the specials board it stated that Banoffi Pie was the special dessert and one of the girls in the party asked for that and was told straight out "no" becuase we were on the set menu. I would love to go back and try the full menu and overall the staff were very accommodating and nice. The atmosphere was great, the drink flowed nicely also. Value for money, I don't know. It was €45 a head and that wasn't including wine... I'd say it's on the expensive side. Would recommend it for a small party!
