I was first attracted to this pub by its very attractive tudor style front.I visited with a bunch of friends and we were all suprised how extensive the bar menu was.Lovely decor and atmosphere in this establishment with a real coal fire and very friendly staff. The quality of the food we were served was first class from the home made lasagne to the delicious scampi. This pub offers very good food at very competetive prices.I would reccomend this pub to anybody working locally or tourists alike. Its nice in these times to see a very well run family business.Almost forget to mention one important point, the pint of Beamish with our leisurely lunch was one of the best we have had.Congratulations to all the management and staff on a very well run and friendly pub.

This quaint little pub in the city feels like it should be out in the country. Fantastic atmosphere with lovely open fire. Lasagne or quiche are great + lovely toasted sandwiches. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

Old college haunt so visited here when I was last back in town. Not changed much over the years. Decor could do with a bit of updating!
