Stopped off here after a break in Cork. First impressions were good, nice airy bar, lovely Christmas decorations and the menu looked good with plenty of choice. I ordered Blackened Chicken Quesadilla's, with sour cream, salsa and guacamole dips. There was hardly any chicken and they were destroyed by too much cheese, also the salsa and guacamole were very obviously out of a jar. Guacamole was inedible. My husband had a chicken jambalaya which was described lovely on the menu but was just ok. Two mains, two glasses of house wine and two coffees came to just under €50 which is expensive for lunchtime. Service was ok, cutlery that was put down in front of us wasn't polished and had water marks. Simple things that let an otherwise nice bar/restaurant down.

We had the Brunch which was full Irish breakfast, the food was gorgeous and very good value for money at 9.95 each, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Overall a very good experience

I love going to Soho with a group of friends - atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food is very reasonably priced and always up to standard. Definitely a favourite for a chill out Friday evening

I ate here last Sunday night with 3 friends. Some of the group had the EB menu, which was fantastic value at €25 for 3 generous sized courses and tea/coffee. I skipped the starter and went for the prawn main course. I asked for the prawns without the batter and our waitress was more than happy to accommodate me. It was absolutely gorgeous. I shared the Baileys parfait for desert which was lovely and light, but delicious. The decor is more suited to a nightclub than a restaurant and if this place hadn't come on a recommendation i might have left on looks alone. Don't be put off however, the food is superb!!

With it being the Jazz Festival there was a great atmosphere and the restaurant was modern and comfortable. The staff were also dressed up for the festival, girls in flapper dresses and boys in bowler hats, which I thought was a nice touch! Had the nachos to share which were yum and a huge portion aswell! I then had the veggie fajitas which were were really nicely done. My friend had the surf and turf on a rock which he couldn't speak more highly of. It was a fillet steak that he said was absolutely gorgeous and then there were huge raw tiger prawns aswell with a spicy dip. Although it was a bit pricey for the steak on a rock I think it's worth it for the entertainment! There was also a good drinks menu with reasonably priced cocktails. If you're really hungry I'd definitely recommend Soho!

Went to Soho for a lunchtime Friday roast Turkey.. This was cold and had to be reheated but the result was a nice dish. My dinner date had the same dish so both of us a little disappointed! Having heard wonderful things about Soho I will give it a go for an evening meal before writing it off.

Went for dinner with a 9 other people for a birthday dinner. Simple decor and the set up was very casual, didn't feel like we were in a restaurant at all. Interesting selection in the menu. Decided to have the scallops with lentil ragout for starter, quite tasty. Then had the rack of lamb, cooked medium, a simple tasty dish, succulent and juicy. For dessert had the flourless chocolate cake, very rich, a must for chocolate lovers. Good and friendly service, reasonable value taking into account the quality of the food and the selection available.

This is one of my regular resaurants. I like it that it is usually very lively and it is a trendy spot right in townThe food is really nice as well and the portions are quite good. If you are going here you must try their spanish fries, they are delicious! and also their side vegetables are great as well and the burgers are fab. Just to say that it is not cheap but the oeverall experience justify it

Visiting Cork we decided to use menu pages and glad we did. We went on a friday night about eight so expected the place to be a bit busier but the atmosphere was nice. Kind of funky. Menu was wide ranging. I went for salmon blackened with cajun and my friend went with fillet steak on a rock. The service was very helpful and even recommended where to go for music and drinks afterwards. We went off full and happy.

Starters + Beef medallions + suft and turf mains excellent. Highly recommended but final bill was a tad expensive. If it was 15% cheaper experience would have been perfect. Service was really good.

Was a t a birthday party in Soho on Friday night, did not have a full meal but the party platters were really good, not your usual sausages and wedges! Fantastic chicken wings, great spring rolls and mexican fries. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were really attentive. Couldn't fault it.

Fantastic... Went here with 8 others for a hen night, the atmosphere in the whole place was buzzing, nice and lively without being deafening! We ordered from the €45 set menu. Starters were a mix of Chicken Tenders, Goats Cheese Tartlet and Baby Back Ribs, no complaints at all! They all arrived together and piping hot. Great main course of Fillet Steak served only seared on a hot rock and you cook it the rest of the way on the volcanic rock slap, as much as you lime. Great idea, we'd a great laugh with it and it tasted fab!!! Dessert was too much bug it was included, the choices are off the main menu, lots of choice. Vanilla and Crunchie cheesecake lacked some Crunchie bug it was still really tasty! Great food, service and even though €45 seems a lot for a set menu, bare in mind that it is a superior one which included Fillet Steak. Would highly recommend. Enjoy

Went here for our work christmas party. From the set menu, I got the goats cheese tart, the chicken breast stuffed with spinach and a melody of desserts. Have to say that the food was absolutely delicious, I was stuffed afterwards! The service and atmosphere were wonderful and I will be returning again for sure. Also, SoHo validate parking!!

Have eaten here several times - both lunch and evening menus. Service can be a bit slow at times and I'm not mad gone on the quality of the food at times. Can be a hit or miss, but overall not a bad spot for a bite to eat in a relaxed atmosphere.

Went for a lunch with my husband and my 2 year old son, we definitely had a great time! My son's needs were accommodated right away, which is great credit for a busy restaurant. The food came quick and it was lovely. For under 50 Euro we had an appetizer big enough for 2, a kid's meal, which the little one really appreciated, and two main courses. Lovely!

This was the weekend of the Cork Jazz weekend, and all staff were dressed up accordingly which was nice. The only reason we didnt give atmospehere a 5 was because we were in a quieter part of the restaurant, but it was still lovely back there. Our waiter was very nice and the food came quickly. We shared chicken wings and the nachos, which were very nice. 3 of us had a steak, and one had stir fry. We all enjoyed our meals very much. One of the steaks was a bit fatty, but the others seemed fine. Dessert was enjoyed by 2 people, they had a lemon tart and thought it was lovely. We also had a few drinks, which were nice, but i got a cocktail and it didnt seem to be made how it said it was, and there didnt seem to be much alcohol in it either. but i still enjoyed it...

We were unfortunate enough to visit here on the same night as the Ireland v Italy International. I enjoy a big match atmosphere in a pub, but not in a restaurant. For starters I had Tempura prawns. The way it was presented was on a large plate, with three prawns and a bowl of soy sauce in the middle. It looked a bit miserable. I also thought that the soy was too strong for the prawns, but maybe thats a personal taste. My girlfriend had the chicken tenders which looked more substantial and were tasty, but by far the best thing on the plate was the accompanying side salad. For mains, I had the ribs, and again they were disappointing, and not very many of them either for the price. The overall atmosphere was very disappointing..I was expecting cool, but what I got was generic superpub. And all the while I felt that the place was just about to turn into a late bar and people were stalking your seat..... When the guy came down to charge my card, he asked us if all was ok, and we did mention about the atmosphere...we were basically bluntly told that the match is what the punters wanted and he was looking after them....thats ok, but the next time I want a night out, then his overpriced average food is something i am going to skip, Thanks

My sister were shopping in Cork on the 12th September 09 and dropped into Soho's on the Grand Parade for lunch. We were met and seated by a very friendly member of staff. We both had the steak sandwich which was really lovely, meat was tender, mushrooms and onions, chips and side salad were all very good. We had a glass of house white wine, no complaints there either. We had chocolate cake for dessert - yummy!! I like to finish a meal with a good cup of coffee and that is what I got. Service was excellent. I feel they could come down a little on their lunch time prices, nevertheless, I must say this is a venue I will visit again and I hope they will keep up their good standards.

Having been at soho on numerous occasions, I throught it was about time I reviewed it. Went here the week before last with himself, it was a quiet monday, the service and food was fantastic, had a great nite. Food is always great here!! Went again with the girls last friday night, the food was fantastic and the service was great, especially as us girls are quite delayed in deciding on our choices. The waitress recommended their wine of the month, so we said we would give that a go, and we did, fantastic value and great tasting wine! We did starter, maincourse and some of the girls dessert, it really was delicious,we may have eaten a bit too much, but sur we couldnt help ourselves! I would highly recommend Soho, and their cocktails are to die for, especially cosmo or mojito, or if your not a dessert fan, try a cream egg shot!

This was my first visit to Soho and I was definitely impressed. Our group of 4 turned up around 8 and were seated immediately near the window allowing us to see the various other floors of this spacious bar and restaurant. The menu was quite varied, I chose the roast chicken on a bed of mash which came with plenty of gravy and a side of vegetables. It was delicious although the menu did say chicken fillet as opposed to chicken fillet on the bone which is what came but it was still quite tasty. One friend chose the chicken fajita salad which was quite spicy but still nice. Another friend chose the steak sandwich. My final friend was initially going to choose the beef which comes served on a volcanic rock and continues to cook on the rock but was turned off by the redness of the meat so opted for the steak instead. Desserts were divine with the chocolate cake and the vanilla and crunchie cheesecake proving to be good choices. Service was initially a bit slow as we waited for drinks but otherwise was very good and the girl who served us was very friendly. Would definitely go back and would recommend it.

Visited for lunch whilst shopping. Service a lot better than last time although we were eating in the bar and not the restaurant. My friend had Cajun Salmon which she really enjoyed (with salad) I had Chicken Sandwich with salad and we shared some spanish fries... Yum! Price for lunch including a drink each was 28euro for the 2 of us - really good value too.. Much better service this time than last and the food was good as always!

I was SO disappointed by this restaurant, the food is very very average, nothing that I would go back for. The service was honestly appalling, we had to almost hassle them into taking our orders, it took forever to catch their attention and they never came back to ask if we needed anything else or if everything was ok. Very unimpressed.

The bar food is lovely and great value for money. not as impressed with the restaurant food tho. The service is awful everytime its like they are doing you a favour by even acknowledging you. takes ages to order and a lifetime to get the food. if you have plenty of time on ur hands then its worth the wait but otherwise id leave it off

Was here for a meal with my boyfriend before i went on holidays, and i must say i was far from impressed. First of all, the stairs leading up to the restaurant is filthy. Were seated in a nice area, menu is good, but they were filty also, a big turn off. It was very quiet, so there really is no excuse for the dirtyness of the place. My bf had the prawn starter, very small, but nice. I had the chicken burger, asked for it without the bun, and what i got wouldnt fill a child, was ok tho. BF got steak was very good. But the mash was disgusting, tasted like a pound of melted butter. Dessert also not great. All in all very dissapointing, and totally overpriced.

I was very impressed with my first visit (definintely not my last) to this restaurant. The staff were very helpful, even when we turned up without having booked. The food was delicious. I had scallops, served on a bed of lentils, yum. My other half had the philly steak spring rolls - I tasted them and they were gorgeous. I had the chicken fajitas for mains and he had the sea bass. All fabulous. Desserts were fab too. My only gripe would be the seats, tubchairs that were a bit too low for a shorty like me. Will be calling again.

A group of us visited the restaurant upstairs one Saturday evening. I had monkfish on the “rock”. This is where your meat or fish comes out raw along with a heated rock. You then cook the fish on the rock to your liking. It was excellent and a real novel ideal. The remaining main courses ordered varied between duck, fajitas and salmon. Overall the food was superb. It’s a pity the staff aren’t to the same high standard - our waiter was bordering on rude. The manager did however give us 2 free main courses where they had mixed up the order. Overall it was a good experience and the high quality of the food outweighed that of the poor waiting staff.

I went here for a drink with my boyfriend after we went for dinner somewhere else... It wasn't very nice though. The service was terrible, it took ages for sb to take our order and the cocktails where quite small for the price and not well mixed! I didn't try the food upstairs though but the music is much too loud for my liking! I wouldn't return...

Great buzz in Soho, went for the waiter's recommendation, had the 3 meat rock, which was fantastic, meat was top quality, side dishes plentiful, total cost for 2 starters, 2 meat rocks, 2 deserts and a nicebottle of wine €113, this is good value. Bit noisy there if you want to have a conversation, but a supersize tv in bar and tv in toilet to keep an eye on a match.

We booked this a birthday present and they were very accommodating with all aspects of the booking. Initially there should have been a child at the dinner and there was no problem even though it was a busy Friday night. The service was great, fast and friendly and any issue was resolved quickly. The Food was superb, enjoyed by everyone and the rock specialty went down a treat. Quality of the food was also really good. I will definitely be booking dinner in this restaurant again.

I visited here with a group of friends on a really busy night. We were shown to our table and a drinks order taken. After 15 minutes we had to ask again for the drinks, which we got with an apology. The food was really good. Alot of us went for the tempura prawns and one of the group tried the hot rock meat trio which she thought was really different and fun. The atmosphere was really good as most people had finished work for xmas. Service was very friendly but slow. Not a place for a romantic dinner for two but for a group it is great fun once the drinks start flowing and with the bar downstairs you don't have to leave for the night. They also validate car parking which is a nice touch.

I've been here a few times, both for lunch and dinner. Great varied menu, very stylish set up, the staff are very nice but sometimes service is a bit slow. Overall, great for a treat!

Lovely relaxed restaurant. Food is always excellent and great choice on the menu for coeliacs. Have eaten regularly in both the restaurant and downstairs bar.

I can't praise Soho enough: I've been there many times & the food is always delicious & perfectly cooked. The portions are massive- enough to satisfy any appetite. The atmosphere there is really cool & the staff are always very helpful.

I've eaten here recently as part of a large group & found that while the food was good, the service was so slow it ruined the meal. However I was more recently at Soho as part of a party of 4 & had a more sucessful experience. As another review said, Soho is great when taken in context - the food is good quality, there's a lively atmosphere, it's a good spot for a meal with friends & a bit of craic. Not to be taken too seriously I would say.

Had eaten before as part of a large group with Work ,finger food etc but on this occasion I returned with a friend to sample the food from the main menu . I wont make that mistake again . Atmosphere is great ,Venue is nice and Popular but stick to the fried finger food anything other than that seems to challenge the chef and on our meal he failed . Told waitress ,she apologised but seemed used to complaints and walked off . Didn't pay for main duck course as there was so much left and it was so rare we could have brought it back to life and let it free in the park . Go for the drinks and crack ,get a burger on the way home .

Fairly solid and consistant nice steaks and kick ass burgers reasonable aswell. Never left here on an empty stomach. Service can be a little slow which can be a litte annoying at lunch time.

Needed to wait a while before I comment on the food in Soho......one word...shocking. A lot of my friends love it but I think the chef (if it is a chef) should go back to catering school (if he ever attended one in the first place). I sent back 3 dishes as they were inedible and the chef came out to look at me but didn't come over to discuss his food with me.....NEVER again....

I love SOHO. In context. It is a pub/restaurant not a fine dining haunt and I appreciate it for what it is. I find the service can be a bit slow but the personalities make up for it when the waiters come around and I think this is very important. I love the cocktails as a little taster and whether it is for some snacks or a full meal I have been very pleased

This place is SHOCKING, that's all I have to say, went there for dinner recently, I had the Baby BK Ribs to start and my girlfriend had the tempura prawns. The portion sizes were ridiculous, there certainly weren't lying about the ribs being baby back!! And the tempura was really soggy and oily. We told our waitress about the tempura, but she didn't seem to care, she said sorry, and walked off, no one offered us something in exchange or anything. For mains I had the Roasted Monkfish, while the lady had the pan fried duck. Both were overcooked, the monkfish was bland and it came with this citrus sauce which was not very appealing, while the duck was incredibly chewy... We decided against desserts, and left, we refused to pay for the tempura.

Ive been in Soho restaurant about 7/8 times since it opened 3/4 times when it first opened but stopped because the food is shocking, once waited 45 mins for a rare fillet and that was after a starter which we waited 30 mins sent the steak back cause it was over cooked and waited another 30 mins for it, and this is when it wasnt busy, been back over the last few months cause every where should get another chance, and another, and another, but the food is shocking, what is nice is you cook it yourself is the mixed fish cooked on the stone, but its a way over priced for a very small portion.

This is a great place to have a few glasses of wine and some food with friends. I ate in the upstairs bar and found it to be relaxed and very welcoming. Casual sharing of food encouraged which makes going for a drink a much more enjoyable affair.

Lovely food at affordable prices. Went for Sunday lunch and there was a wide selection of dishes. The only thing is that it was really busy so the space was very restricted.

Overall ok. A lot of stairs up to the restaurant for an older person which I had specified we were entertaining on booking. Menu not too varied catering to young on the run rather than taste buds wanting to be tittilated. A lot of visitors in restaurant on night we were there.

I must say the atmosphere here was very nice and the music was very good. I must say i really liked the private dining seats. As for the food it was of the best quality i have had in a long while. Even if it was a bit pricy it was well worth the cost.

I was here before xmas with a few friends and the food was excellent. The portions were very generous and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the chicken fajitas and they were perfect. The service was sometimes slow but pleasant. I would go back.

Was Drawn to SoHo by the Menu on their website It looked well presented and stylish .This is a description which could indeed be ascribed to the entire establishment. Was delighted by the pleasent surroundings and prompt service .Had a feast of ribs to start and a T-Bone steak done to perfection for the main . All in all an excellant meal By far and away the best I`ve had in Cork so far.

My partner and I went for a meal on New Years Eve. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champers, and the service through out the meal was excellent as was the food! I had the fillet mignon and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection! He had the sirlion which was also excellent. I cant wait to go back, a definite must for food lovers. Great menu that would suit all tastes.

I was there with my partner at the weekend. We had a lovely table, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic. I had the prawn starter which is quite small but nice, and the fillet rock which tastes amazing and is nice to be able to cook it just the way you want it! The wine and cocktail lists are good too, with a lovely sparkling wine for only €22...you can't go wrong!

I had dinner last night in Soho restaurant and I have to say the quality of the food was excellent, the best steak I've had in years and very good service. My only complaint was that the restaurant was very cold. But great value for money.

Been to Soho a few times and had the finger food type of stuff. Must say that the Chicken Wings and Nacho's are top notch. I'd eat them wings all day. Went the other night though for real food and the meat combination on the rock was the business. It's great craic cooking away your own meat and it tasted great. You get a fine amount of meat thrown in too, with a nice supply of lamb, duck, and steak. I'll really recommend giving it a go at least once anyway. Great spot.
