A great place for a fairly fast, decent lunch - not too sure about dinner. Been a few times - but the last one was just before Xmas when restaurants are rarely at their best. For lunch it is family-friendly and fairly fast. You get what you'd expect - very nice burgers (beef, chicken or lamb), some OK veggie options (a mushroom or haloumi burger) and good home-made chips. For dinner it's exactly the same as far as I can tell: 17 different ways of dressing up a burger! The does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a mid-price, convenient, family-friendly place for lunch or a fast dinner. Not somewhere to linger and nowhere you'll be raving to friends about (unless you really love burgers), but sometimes you need this sort of place. No fuss, no pretensions, just decent food at a not-outrageous price.

Excellent little burger joint. The day we went there were 4 or 5 other tables with families with small children. The menu and atmosphere were family friendly without being too childish. The decor was nice. My husband said that if ever he were to open a food place, he'd want it to be like that. i wasn't hugely hungry so i asked could i order a child size portion and that was no problem. The service was quick and quiet. The food was good. Decent burgers with proper ketchup on every table. Good chips too. Would go back.

I'd highly recommend this un-assuming spot, and not related to the large Gourmet Burger chain.... Great burgers, tasty chips and a great selection of beers and wines to wash them down. I had the advocado bacon and cheese burger washed down by a couple of pints of Murphys.. The bright interior may not look that enticing but the food is well worth it..

We were pleased to get a reseration for this restaurant at the last minute, especially given that it was New Years Eve. Unfortunately we were seated next to the waiter's station and could hear profanities from the kitchen through the intercom. Despite that, the service was quite friendly and the food was of a very high standard considering it was burger and chips. The wine list was varied but basic and there was a small range of beers. I would go back again.

The lunch menu here is unbelievable value, i think it was 7.50 for burger, chips and drink. Burgers are delicious, can barely get your mouth around so big, yummy home made fries. Really good value, service is lovely. Been there for dinner too, just as nice, except you dont really need starters or extra sides as burgers as so filling!!

This restaurant is a great little gem that is reasonably priced and caters for all tastes and budgets. I had the chicken and sweet chilli burger which was really succulent and cooked to perfection. My friend had the daily special which was the lamb burger. It looked great and was really tasty! The drinks at the restaurant are not over-priced and the service is excellent. I would really recommend this eatery, it is near the city centre and will definitely cater for all tastes.

Have been meaning to try the Gourmet Burger Bistro for a while now, and so glad I finally did! While it's very casual and not somewhere you go for a special night out - plastic ketchup bottles on the table! - you won't get a more varied and tasty burger menu in Cork! I had the Italian and my boyfriend the French, but I'm looking forward to trying the various vegetarian, lamb and chicken options another time. Service was relaxed and friendly and it was all very good value. We paid about €40 for two burgers with fries, a side of onion rings, two beers and a glass of wine.

Fantastic value, went at lunch time on a Friday, the service was excellent and the food was top class, the burgers are very tasty. The restaurant while small is very cosy and as the lunch hour trade picked up there it was still very comfortable. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch or evening tea.

Visited Gourmet Burger for lunch. Lunch menu €9.95 which is great value considering a normal main course is approx €13. Portions naturally smaller than mains but sufficient for lunch. Food tasty. The sting is in the tail as desserts are expensive.

There has been an increase recently in the number of places that specialise in burgers most of which have a very high standard - this restaurant included. The atmosphere was really nice here, no screaming children or loud groups. Even though the space itself is relatively small the tables were not on top of each other which is always a plus. Service was quite good, jug of water was refilled without having to ask, etc. all the little things that can make a big difference to the dining experience. The menu was large and varied - Although, me being awkard as usually had to make a special request. I got the italien ( basil and pine nut pesto, parma ham and mozzarella) but I swapped the cheese for the Brie from the French Connection. One of the nicest burgers I've ever had! My only complaint, would be that the portion of chips served with the burgers are very very small. They're amazing and I had them eaten too fast - so if your going in hungry possibly order a side order of the onion rings (yum!) for the table which is what we did. Didnt have any dessert as the taste from dinner was so nice I didnt want to get rid of it, so cant report on them.

I thought the food in this restaurant was ok but nothing very special. In a sense it does what it says on the tin by providing a great burger but I wouldn't be running back there again. I had quite a bland starter of bruschetta and a rather unspectacular pannacotta for my dessert. Having said that my beef burger was lovely, if not rather enormous. The staff are very pleasant though which is a good point. Overall, good if you're after a tasty burger but not much else.

We were in Cork a couple of wends ago and I had printed off the menupages voucher for a free bottle of wine that recently appeared in the Irish Independent. We were going to a gig on the Fri night in Cork and were looking for somewhere casual and yummy to grab bite to eat beforehand. Given we had the voucher and the fact that I am a veggie (they have 4 veggie burgers to choose from which made it great to have a choice!) we chose here and were not dissappointed. I had the Lentil & Kidney Bean Burger...YUM YUM! My hubbie had the Greek Style Lab Burger and really enjoyed that too. The portions were spot on and the potatoe wedges delicious. We also got a side of onion rings and out free bottle of house wine! The staff were very pleasant & relaxed and the manager really friendly and nice. The style of the restaurant is really pleasant and is very family friendly. Anyways had a great value meal and with a free bottle of wine we were delighted with this lovely spot. Keep up the good work!

Dropped by to try their lunch menu, five different types of burger for E7.50 served with a small portion of chips. Also an additional lunch special was advertised, some sort of salad with strawberries and lentils for E5.95. Had the lamb burger, decent size and surprisingly filling. Quite tasty especially with the tzatziki dip. Small portion of chips, enough to keep me happy. Very good value for lunch, will definitely come again. Friendly service as well.

I Absolutely recommend this restaurant. We arrived at 6pm for an early meal, vouchers in tow for 5 free desserts courtesy of MenuPages.ie. We were seated immediately, it was early and a little quiet. We had to wait 40 minutes for everyone to gather, so we were late ordering, but the staff were very understanding and everything got underway smoothly. We all tried different starters, and without exception were very pleased with our choices. The waitress recommended a spanish white wine, which was very nice. Our Main courses arrived within 5 minutes of finishing our starter, perfect as we had explained we needed to be at a play by 8pm. We all ordered burgers of various types Every plate was cleaned, everyone again was very happy with their choice. The food was simply delicious. We all opted for free double espressos instead of our free desserts. The coffee was the best I have ever got in Cork. The bill averaged out at 26 euros each. It was the best value meal in Cork in years.

We went there for a bite after work. We enjoyed the Menu and the Food. That there was a free Glass of Wine or Bottle of Beer with every main course was for sure a big plus. We had the Prawn starter wich was great as well the Burgers for the main course. We had no space for the dessert but we will try one next time. The staff was very friendly and quick. A perfect visit we will come again.

We visited here as a family of 4 back in March. Looking for somewhere new to eat in the city, we weren't disappointed. The vast range of mouth watering burgers made my choice very difficult. One member of our dinner party is not a fan of burgers so we range in advance and checked with the manager if there was any steak we could order. He reassured us that it was possible to take the sliced steak from their salad and serve it with chips. When this dish came out we were all shocked and in awe at the amount of chips and tender slices of steak that were on the plate. Needless to say, our steak lover was delighted! The rest of us were also delighted with the quality of our burgers although one said he was disappointed that he could not taste the Satay sauce on his lamb burger, although I'm sure if we'd asked more more the staff would not have hesitated to get it. The small ramkin of chips on the side seemed disappointing at first, but as we got towards the end of our meal we soon realised that it would be near impossible to have eaten any more than what was available! All in all a very good meal. Service was good and the cozy settings ensures a great atmosphere. We were also quite amused at the pictures on the wall. I look forward to returning again and making my way down through the menu!! I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone I meet!

We had lunch here on Saturday afternoon. The burgers were really really delicious. I also loved the little portion of fresh-cut chips on the side. However, I was slightly dissapointed with the 'homemade relish' on the side, which was basically just some shredded beetroot in beetroot juice(?). Also as a hater of ketchup, I was relying on them having good mayo (e.g. Hellmans) but unfortunately it wasn't the good stuff. So I ate my burger dry, but it was still to die for. One of the best burgers I've ever tasted. As far as value - maybe a bit pricey for a weekend lunch. It worked out at almost 30euro for two burgers and a can of coke (2.50!) with a few coins for a tip. However, their mon-fri lunch deal (7.50euro) seems like great value. And it does offer quite good value for evening meals.

I was out with a group of friends for a bite to eat & we were headed to the tapas bar beside this place on bridge st, which was unfortunately closed for renovations. Disappointed, we decided to eat at Gourmet Burger Bistro.. and were pleasantly surprised! It was restaurant atmosphere without the prices & really tasty food...my greek style lamb burger was excellent. We ordered a bottle of wine which was very drinkable & didn't have to hold out breath when the bill came! Staff were lovely..I couldn't really fault the place!

This place was fantastic! We were surprised to find an offering of a three-course meal in a burger joint, but everything was totally worth it. They have meat-free options as well. The tampenade dip with the italian bread was so good! The crab cakes were good, but the portion was small. I couldn't leave without trying the American-style Apple dessert and I wasn't disappointed (glad I didn't have a bigger meal, because this could have been a meal in itself!). They put ice cream on the side instead of fresh cream. The servers were friendly and made really good suggestions.

I ate here on Saturday night of the jazz with 5 friends and the place was just buzzing but still delivered excellent service. What a variety there is, burgers, salads, fish and extra specials. We had burgers, warm chicken salad and fish and everything was very very good, especially the chips they were just yum. Afterwards we went for the Affogato dessert which is really cool. All in all we had a night with great, food, value & service. Well done to all Cork really needed this.

I went to gourmet burger bistro twice during August. On the first occasion I was with a large group having a birthday dinner. The second occasion was having a quick dinner with a friend before going to a show in the everyman. I have been really impressed with the service on both occasions. At the birthday dinner we were put under no pressure and spent quite a long time over our meal. We were not at all rushed. On the other hand, we were running a bit late for our show when we went the second time and our waitress was really helpful, getting everything for us as quickly as possible. As for the food, it was delicious. I had the beef with blue cheese one night and the greek lamb the second time. Both were really delicious. I thought the chips were beautiful. Although it is a small portion of chips it was more than enough with the massive burger. All in all good food, good service and good value. Definitely going back there!

What a burger!!!! Went for early tea so the place wasn't very busy, which was great. The menu had some great choices. I had the Blue Cheese Burger and my partner had the French Connection. We had some wings and brushetta to start. Everything was delicious! When the burger arrived it was served with a small bowl of homemade fries, it looked a little small but the focus of the meal is the burger and I was hard pressed to finish it all. The combination of ingredients on all the burger choices looks fantastic. Good food and great value! We will definitely be going back there. I think it would be lovely for an early tea with the family and the staff made us feel so welcome and were very chatty. A restaurant I'd recommend to friends and one I will definitely be returning to.

Went for lunch. The tables are very close together so you can´t avoid listening to other people´s conversation. I had the small halloumi salad and even though it was delicious and well presented, it was very expensive for what I got. At a price of 7.25, it was an very small portion. The burgers were nice but as well for lunch, a bit expensive. The best thing are the great variety of burgers.

I found this restaurant about a week or two after they opened earlier in the summer and I've been several times for dinner since. They have a nice, varied menu with some unusual items (like Hallomi salad). They have a few nice vegetarian options too, which is important for me! We got starters the first night but they are a bit on the small side so I haven't bothered with them since. The burgers are substantial though so you don't really need a starter and all the burgers do come with nice home fries on the side (at least on the dinner menu so I can't comment on other reviews). The portion of fries is small but just right. They have a lot of variety in burgers and the carnivores I was dining with on different occasions were very happy with them (I'm a vegetarian and like the falafel burger on offer)! I have found the value quite good but don't bother with a starter - you won't need it anyway! The restaurant is bistro style, so simplicity is a hallmark. This is simple, casual dining at it's best.

Almost DIY dining. After passing this restaurant a few times I decided to try it for lunch with a friend. Sadly the lunch deal for €10 is not available at weekends so we ordered from the main menu. I was tempted to try a burger but from the menu it seems that main courses don't come with fries unless you wish to pay an extra €3.50 for the privilege of eating them. I found this a bit on the mean side seeing as most of the burgers were priced between €10-15 so this would bring a one course lunch to almost €20. I opted for the fish & chips €14 while my friend went for the apple crumble €5. The service was ok, our water glasses were refilled by another waitress which was good but our own waitress was very uninterested in her job as she was staring glumly out the front window during our visit. My dish was tasty enough but the portion of fries that came with it was very small, my friend’s dessert was very tasty. We asked for the bill twice but it never arrived so we went up to pay ourselves which annoyed me slightly. Overall an ok experience, may try the lunch deal next time.

Good food, great price. Went here for lunch and for €10 were treated to a great burger, a small ramkin of fries and a drink. Pretty good value. The lamb burger was excellent and was served with two sauces, however chips were just ok, a little soggy! Staff were very friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere of the small restaurant was casual and relaxed. We will def be back for more lunch!

I had the cheese salad which was very strange and chewy. My friend had the chill chicken which had very little punch.I had the fish and chips which were below standard especially the chips which like the other reviewer were greasy. The service was very hit and miss more miss than hit, the staff didn't want to be there from the looks on their faces. It is not great value really considering the service and the decor is like an old sea shack more for a seafood place than burgers.I agree with the other reviewer my coffee was vile, burnt and weak at the same time.I would not advise you come here unless you want to be disappointed, we had better burgers and meals elsewhere.

Not impressed at all.I was back visiting my family, down from Dublin and called in here for some food. The service was just rude my plate was taken away from me while they said "your done" and it was not as if it was busy. The kids pasta was not what I was told it was, so of course the child did not eat it.The coffee was like the stuff you get in a petrol station on corner shop. The chips were greasy and small, the burger was ok but I have had better, the bun in particular was tough and chewy. It looks and is like a poor immitation of the gourmet burger restaurants in Dublin. It as if someone tried to jump on a trend and has missed the mark.

Yes it's a good-value restaurant and I would rate it an A for adequate. Atmosphere was rather dead but then it was early in the evening. Service was attentive and good humoured. The burgers were ok but, as has been mentioned by others, the chip portion is very very smalll. Very reasonably priced and I will return.

Went here last night. Food was to die for, had the Cajun Chicken Burger the Cajun Sauce was too die for..and it came in a seperate dish which was great for dipping the chips. Only downside was the size of the portion of chips, could do with being a little larger. Excellent Value for money!! Will definitely be going again.

Having previously been disappointed with my Gourmet burger experience in Dublin I have to say I was massively impressed with the burger I had in GBB Cork. The selection was excellent and I opted for the Big Swiss which didn't disappoint. Had three courses at a surprisingly reasonable price and my sister who I dined with is still raving about the coffee. Service was also prompt and courteous. Will be going back.

I would like to say this place was good.. As i love a good burger!! As far as burgers go it was fine. But Fine is not what they are selling. They are selling Gourmet Burgers and Gourmet they certainly are not. The service was adequate but not very personal. The decor is fresh and not overstated. The wine list is so poor and overpriced it's obviously not for their target audience. The menu is large and as is the norm these days is your placemat. Nice!!! It's a mish mash of ideas. Nothing new nothing different, and when opening in a recession that's a bad idea. I can see this burger joint busy for a while but there are better places in Cork for (Burgers) and better value. Nice try but should have put more thought into the concept. Sorry!

I have already eaten here twice and had takeaway Friday night. The food is great, it is great value and the staff are very friendly. Love the decor - although I would add more pink. AND they are coeliac friendly! I think I will be eating my way through their menu!! Love the chilli chicken burger and the dessert with coffee and baileys. And it is excellent coffee!

DELICIOUS!!! I have seen this place and have been eagerly awaiting its opening, I went for lunch with some friends and we all LOVED it! There is too much selection though and it took us nearly 20 minutes to decide what we wanted. The real problem was that we all wanted everything and they all sound so good!!!

Definately GOURMET. Have been to similar establishments in dublin and London and the quality of food in GBB is definately a step above other Gourmet Burger places i've been to before. Service was enthusiastic, efficient and welcoming. Value for money was exceptional hence i was there twice this week. Burgers are their mainstay and taste amazing but i had their Beef Salad on 2nd visit and can highly reccomend that also. Plenty on the menu left for me to try before i have to decide what my favourite dish is there - hardest part is deciding what to have.
