Fenn's Quay is a restaurant which produces consistently good food. My recent visit was a working lunch. I knew I could depend on the restaurant. I was with 2 others who had never been there before. They were both very please with the food, value and service and said they's definitely be coming back.

As part of the dine in Cork week we decided to try somewhere new. Feens Quay it was. It was excellent. The service on Monday was ok, the table and atmosphere was lovely. I had the warm chicken sald with sweet chili dressing which was amazing followed by a steak which was only average to be honest and cookies and ice cream to follow. The starter and dessert were excellent, the main was lacking. it will ot however stop me from returning to Fenns Quay. Good night all round.....

I was in here on Saturday last. The food and Service was excellent from the start. We had the mediterranean Soup (mine was with Fish). Really nice. We both had the fillet Steak, I like mine medium Rare, girlfreind likes her's well done. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Absolutely top class. There was mushrooms and baby shallot in a filo pastry and creamy sauce. These were all as good the steaks. Next was the desert. I had the choclate Pudding and I must say that I have never had anicer desert anywhere from what I remember, the girlfreind thought the same (we shared the homemade choc chip cookie and my pudding). The pudding came with Vanilla Ice Cream, and The cookie with a Honeycombe ice cream. Very very good all round experience. The Staff are attentive without being obtrusive. Highly Reccomend. Last thing is that the food is reasonable for any standard.

FENNS QUAY The folks at Fenns Quay were delighted last week to received their confirmation letter that they were again on the Michelin recommended list. It is a well deserved recommendation. We had a little celebrating to do ourselves on Friday and started off with a couple of glasses of their lively Prosecco and nibbled on their excellent breads while waiting for our main coursers. The main menu here is always enlivened by some daily specials and these are always worth considering. I picked from the day’s list and was very happy indeed that I did. The dish was: Chargrilled Tuna with Rustic Potatoes, roast flat cup mushrooms and cannellini bean compote (24.95). Sometimes Tuna can be a bit on the dry side but not here. It was perfectly cooked and the mushroom and compote, not forgetting the moderately spiced potatoes, gave it all a perfect balance,. My wife picked her main dish from the regular list and it was: Chargrilled “Slaney Valley” Lamb chump with spiced roast potatoes and a cassoulet of vegetables and a mint pesto (22.50). The tender pieces of lamb were again cooked to perfection, just as ordered, and again the veg and pesto were spot on to give a very tempting and tasty ensemble. It was a busy night in the city centre venue, full up from about eight on, but service was friendly and relaxed and efficient as we’ve come to expect! Our dishes came off the a la carte menu but there is also a very good value Supper Menu available.

I ate in Fenns Quay with three other people. I was very disappointed with the quality of my meal. The people that were with me had the same experience. The food that night was not up to a good standard esp for the price we paid. I have eaten there before a few times at lunch time and found it to be satisfactory so maybe we hit a bad night!

I ate here as part of the "Dine in Cork" week in early November 2010. The food was very good and real value for money @ €25 a head. The menu was obviously limited given the set price but they had 4 options for each course which meant our table of 4 got to try out everything!! Some of the dishes were heavy but they were very flavoursome e.g. pheasant terrine, veal hotpot, flourless chocolate tart, the rice pudding. The melted irish cheese with mushrooms starter was my favourite. I have only one criticism - the atmosphere and decor needs some work. It's dated and worn out - the toilet door didn't lock properly. Small things really and nothing to prevent me from returning as I would like to try out their "normal" menu but it would not be on my list of "special occasion" restaurants. Pity because the food was great.

I was here with my fiancee' a couple of weeks ago for the first time and I must say we were really impressed. I had heard of the place but i had also heard that it was a bit pricey so we decided to save it for a special occasion but i must say it was quite resonable as they had offers for 2 or 3 course meals..I think it was around 27 euros for 3 course which given the quality of the food was excellent value. The food was tasty and tasteful, unpretentious but really genuine. You can tell that they do use good quality ingredients. The service was very good as well, the manager was very friendly and really made sure that we were looked after. I would say though that the decor was quite plain and felt that perhaps it didn't match the quality of the food. But who cares? We will be defnitely back for more.

An almost hidden gem. Popped into this lovely place for the second time on Friday last. I went with the fillet steak for my main, done in a wellington-like pastry, which was cooked to asking (med-rare). Very tasty but lacking a nice crust. The lady had the swordfish special which was delicately cooked and was presented wonderfully. We shared a chocolate toffee pot for desert and had a lovely sparkling white (Crement d'Alsace) and a merlot with our mains. Service is some of the best in the city, very efficient and polite. A small space and usually always full but still creates a cosy atmosphere with your dining companions. Happily recommended.

My fiance and I have eaten on a few occasions in this restaurant. The service is great and staff are very attentive. I have eaten sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection. He had chicken & pasta which was just as satisfying. The location is great as there are pubs a few minutes walk away if going for drinks after.

Great food at Fenn’s Quay! For lunch I had a pasta dish with Serrano ham, roasted red peppers, broccoli and tomato based sauce, while my other half had bangers & mash served with leaks and a red wine gravy. Both dishes were very good, the pasta was very tasty and even though I ordered the small portion it was very filling. For desert we shared a raspberry crème brulee, which was really creamy and yummy. Service was very friendly and prompt, and we will be back for sure.

I was super impressed by this unassuming place when I ate there with my wife last Monday. There were lots of other diners there, which is almost always a good sign. The chef in Fenn's Quay seems to have a real eye for detail and a flair for presentation. I like to try new places whenever I eat out, but my wife is the opposite and I know that she will be badgering me to bring her to Fenn's Quay for the next while. On the wine front, I would recommend the Cremant d'Alsace (sparkling) and the Villa Tonino Grillo (white) - both beautiful.

I have visited this restaurant on a few occasions when in Cork and went again on Saturday nite. However, on this occasion it was not as enjoyable as previous times. Both myself and my husband were happy with our starters - the anti-pasto plate and an asparagus dish. The couple with us ordered the mediterranean fish soup but were very disappointed with it - it was basically a tomato vegetable soup with some fish added. For mains the Swordfish was excellent but the Fillet steak was not very good - I don't know if this was a once off or not. We didn't have desert so cannot comment. Service was excellent and atmosphere very good but I felt that the quality was not the same as before. Not sure if I will return.

We visited this restaurant on monday the 29th of june for my wife's birthday, the decor is bright and fresh and relaxing. The service is fast, professional and diligent, the food is divine what can I say a menu bubbling over with sumptuous dishes to tempt your palate. My only gripe is that I cant currently visit this fine eatery once a week, due to the current climate so once a month will have to suffice. If you require first class sustenance in cork then look no further than Fenn's Quay.

Had a great lunch here yesterday. The lunch time choice was wide and varied and reasonably priced. I had the chicken and couscous and it was excellent- the chicken fresh tasting, light and spicy and the couscous bursting with flavours. The presentation was excellent with fresh herbs scattered on the dish. My dining partner had the salmon cakes and salad and pronounced them excellent. The lunch was good value at 13.95 each and the staff were attentive and responsive. Must dine there in tthe evening sometime soon!

I eat here quite regularly for both lunch and dinner. The lunch-time special offers are excellent and if you are in the mood to spend an extra couple of quid the specials menu changes regularly and I've never been dissapointed. Dinner menus are much the same. The staff are friendly and attentive and the manager once took the time to advise my choice of wine which was a nice touch since I don't have a clue. All round, I'd strongly advise a visit.

Had the Early Bird menu - the food was lovely, fresh and the atmosphere was ok, given it was a Tuesday. However we we disappointed with the choice available to us on the Early Bird.

A evening meal in this cafe-style restaurant. Ambience was friendly, service was attentive, food was excellent. It's relatively rare to find small restaurants that are willing to be creative with the ingredients they include in their dishes. I loved this menu, it felt like an adventure.

Went here for lunch as a group of 10. The service was excellent and the food was generally tasty, simple and good although some dishes were a little over-extravagant. There were one or two very tasty dishes (such as the lamb pie) and the brown bread was great. There was also a good selection of wines and those which we chose were of good quality. Overall, a nice place with relatively good food, good value and excellent service.

Food was delicious-great flavour and variety. The speicals menu offered a nice selection. I would say that there was a limited selection if you were opting for the early bird set menu but overall I was very impressed and would definately return.

We visited this restaurant for lunch. The set menu was a bit basic but there was also a specials menu which offered a lot more choice. We were waiting quite a bit for service but once the order was taken the food arrived quickly and it was delicious. Staff very friendly and pleasant.

We got this restaurant through MenuPages and it turned out to be really lovely, food, place, staff etc - all excellent, could not fault it at all. We had the Antipasto plate between 3 of us and there was plenty in it, then we had fish and steak as main - all super! Would definitely return.

Delicious salmon and potato cakes and a salad that was one of the best I've had (I usually leave the greenery behind on the plate!). However, the main course was warm rather than hot, but this was my only quibble. Dessert (almond tartlet with strawberries and ginger cream) was exquisite. The restaurant was bigger than I expected, and the atmosphere was nice and laid-back. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the overall experience was one I wouldn't mind repeating.
