I had eaten here once before on a trip to Cork and it was packed to the rafters. I returned here last week and the place was empty, but I did expect this seeing as we arrived a little before 10pm. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was the exact same quality and the service was top notch. We got a lovely window seat and were never hassled. The only thing that would throw me was the cost. It was very expensive for 2 starters, 2 mains and 4 beers!

Paid a return visit, having been here whilst on a visit to Cork at the same time last year. The restaurant was busy, and the meal was up to the same standard as on the previous occasion. We shared a tasty and plentiful platter for two for starters, and my main meal was delicious and satisfying. Surroundings are relaxing and it's not a cheap place to eat, but the food and service are good.

Had a very enjoyable evening here. The meal was delicious and service was very good. Two negative points though. On each table there’s a set of three little stainless steel dipping dishes. Two of the three dishes on our table were minus the handle in the lid. This really should be attended to as it doesn’t look good because there is a hole in the lid where the handle had been attached and it’s quite obvious that the handle has been broken off. The second thing relates to paying the bill. When the waiter came to the table, I was asked out loud if a gratuity was to be added to the VISA card. This was within earshot of other diners and was not a nice thing to do. I told the waiter I wouldn’t be doing so and he didn’t seem too pleased about it. If a tip is warranted, I will leave one on the table, but I never put a tip on my credit card. A situation like this could cause serious embarrassment to some diners, and possibly even make them feel obliged to put a tip on their card. It’s a practice that has crept into restaurants here in the past few years and I do not like it.
