I felt a little rushed by waitress to order. She came to table 3 times while we were still looking at menus but service was excellent. I ordered from early bird menu . The food was very tasty any good generous servings. Pan fried chicken was delicious. Meringue nest with fresh fruit disappointing. Over all good value

must say i had a cracker of a night the food was fab. the service was excellent and it was all done with smiles and laughter. our christmas party went from good to great and all because the service was great.we were greeted with smiles, our table was ready with all the trimmings they even had crackers. and gave us more on request.the starter i had was prawns and it was so tasty.and not spareing,i then went on to have pork belly and i was well impressed. only room then for xmas pudding and that filled the gap.i finished off with a glass of wine and our party of 7 were in no hurry to leave.the place was very full but the staff didnt rush us out .so thank currans for a great night and the warm smiles.ill be back.

We visited Currans on a Friday night and that meant no early bird menu available at 8pm but it was still good value for money, the waitress could not have been more helpful, even offering to take back the desserts if people did not like them, when they couldn't make their minds up. The pizza was really good and the chocolate fudge cake was great and really moist. The new decor is lovely and really changes the place for the better, overall excellent!

Myself and my friend took a quick lunch bite here because it is handy for her work. I had been here before about a year or two ago up in the rooftop terrace and thoroughly enjoyed the food and heady atmosphere but things have changed since then. I'm afraid our waitress was somewhere else, not with us at all, she took our order but no smile, interest or hint of warmth was relayed our way. My friend asked what juices were available and it turned out that the three listed on the menu were not available and just orange juice in stock. My friend ordered the seafood salad and I a create your own pizza, three toppings for €9.95. The seafood salad was very sparse, hardly any salad and covered mostly with a brown fish(not Tuna and not to my taste) that was ice cold from the fridge and lacked imagination(a sauce or something maybe might be nice) there was one lonely prawn and some smoked salmon wrapped up in the corner. It looked unappetising, my friend was disappointed but didn't feel comfortable saying anything she was in a rush to get back to work also. My pizza came with a salad which had this non de script off pink glue like dressing splayed on top, I didn't eat that but chewed on the cucumber. Pizza was 7 inches, dry and nothing special. The atmosphere is gone from this place, the supervisor , who used to be such a cheery gent took little interest in us when we went to pay our bill. The best thing about this place...oh Gosh that is hard...the cola had ice cubes and was refreshing...the least...the lack of imagination and quality in the food and the uninterested 'morale at an all time low' staff. I lament the old Curran days!

This place is more like a pub restaurant but without the pub - they don't have a drinks licence altough there website has a full wine menu. After being seated and served we were told there wasn't a wine list but that if we went up the road to the off-licence they'd serve that (corkage €4). I went up but the off-licence was closed that evening. They should have it in black and white on their website that it's a BYOB place. The atmosphere wasn't great either. It is a big enough place but the other 6 diners were spread around the restaurant giving it a dead feel. For starters we shared the ribs - they were only o.k., and for the main we both had the thai red curry. The main was more your usual Irish pub curry than a thai curry. It wasn't great value either - maybe if it was an early bird but I didn't see any of these menus. For the price and quality of the food I'd go elsewhere although there isn't a whole lot of choice in the area. The cinema was around the corner - that was our reason for going that evening.

called in for a very quick lunch with a friend, as it's near the Mercy Hospital. Arrived around 1.35, and the service was fast. the sandwich selection is not great but it will do, the rest of the lunch menu is extensive if a little overpriced. The toasted special came with the choice of salad or chips and feeling very naughty i chose the chips, big mistake, frozen fries over done and woody..uugh. My friend chose the BLT bap, bap really floury but looked dry and was! he chose salad, not great.. cold pata salad that had seen better days, and the colslaw was over mayo'd! The staf were efficient but that 's as much as could be said. The bill came to €16, with tea, a little over priced for the poor lunch received, especially considering the bar food near by.. pity

Myself and my husband went for Sunday lunch here last week and it was really great. Food was delicious just as described in menu and was really reasonably priced. We thought it was really good value for money. The best part of our experience was the service, they got this new system in where you just press a button on the table when you want service. It was brillent as soon as we pressed the button there was a waitress down to us in less than a minute. Fantastic! Wish all restaurants would follow suit. Decor was great so interesting reading all about where each articifact came from. We really enjoyed our experience the staff were so nice and helpfull. Overall we really enjoyed our dining experience and will be back.

Went for dinner with 4 other friends after a movie at the nearby cinema. Nice decor, loads of antique from the city with a lot history all around the place. Nice and cosy ambience. Ordered the seafood pasta, not too creamy and generous with the fish, just the way i like it. Others had lasagne, absolute chicken, burger with goat's cheese and steak, everyone loved their food, simple stuff but delicious. No long wait for the food. Friendly and courteous staff. They've even got a wireless call bell on the tables to get the staffs' attention if in need of anything. Overall more than satisfied, will definitely go again especially since the pricing is not too bad and the quality is there.

I visited Currans last week with 4 other women. We were going on to a show after so we thought the location would suit us perfectly. And it did! We all enjoyed the food we got and the service was very efficient. I enjoyed reading about the various itens in the restaurant that had been recovered from Churches, schools, etc. It was a nice touch that this information was available on the menus. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it was very nice. I have eaten here before a number of times and have mostly ordered the Thai seafood which never lets me down but I just felt like a change. The prices were very reasonable too which is important to everyone at the moment.

i went for lunch with my children,we came in ahead of a group of 6,,but had to wait till the group had ordered before we were looked after, but it was very obvious so much so that my 8yr old commented on it,,my children ordered of off the kids menu, chicken and fish goujons which was good value,i ordered salmon in creole sauce 12euro,,the chicken goujons were deepfried to a inch of being cremeted, and after my daughter recieved chicken too ,we had a long wait for the fish,so much so that i just wanted out in the end and didnt get to try a dessert, which they had a trio and i was looking forward to trying it,,my salmon was perfect and i used the 3 baby potatoes to scrape the scarce sauce which was yummy, but at 12euro it was steep due to lack of veg,,the place itself is lovely, the staff polite but depending on who you got determined wether you got cutlery or water,,guess what we didnt get !!

Currans is a lovely environment to enjoy some food. We were looking for some wholesome, good food and was very happy with Currans. Service was good, portions were very generous and at a very reasonable price. Great variety on the menu meaning there is something there for everyone.

Curran's is sucessful at what it does - i.e. good food at reasonable prices in a lively atmosphere. Is it the most exciting culinary experience of your life? No, but then it doesn't pretend to be and cost us about €42 for 2 courses, for 2 people, and a drink each. Ideal for a night out like a hen party I think, or somewhere to grab a quick bite as the service is incredibly / worryingly fast!

We visited Currans last Saturday night for the 1st time for a hen-party (27 of us). From the moment we arrived until they eventually kicked us out we were made to feel very welcome. Our main waiter for the night was very attentive and couldnt do enough for us even though we kept him busy with special dietary requests and drinks orders. We got our starters really fast and even for such a big group there was no delay in our main courses either. I didnt try the desserts but they looked fantastic. There wasnt one complaint from the whole group. As there was so many of us and of a varied age group we decided to stay in the restaurant and this was no problem as we had our own little area upstairs and this was perfect. The young lady who was looking after us at the end of the night was very obliging and ordered taxis for anyone that wanted them. This was my 1st visit to this restaurant and i cant wait to go back. Thanks Currans for great food and a brilliant atmosphere..

I was invited to Currans by a family member. We had reservations for a Friday night at 8:30. We were seated promptly, and provided with menus and water. The interior of the restaurant is interesting visually - with various architectural and interior historical remnants collected from around County Cork, which would be fun for an out-of-towner to see. We had 3 different servers throughout the night, two of which where very abrupt and had all the warmth of a slab of granite. The food arrived very quickly and was presentable, but not noteworthy in its appearance. I ordered the Aubergine Gateau from their selection of 3 vegetarian entrees (not a bad number for Cork, I'd say at this point). The Gateau tasted fine, though not fresh - I think it had been prepped earlier in the day and it showed. It was served with a large side of roasted potatoes, which were tasty. I thought that at 13.95, however, the dish was overpriced I ordered the strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which was a bit bland and underwhelming. We stayed until after closing, and were the last party to leave. I give the staff kudos for not rushing us out of the place, as we'd been done eating for some time. It's not a bad place, but I do think it's overpriced.

Curran's is in a handy central spot in Cork city. I was there a couple of Friday nights ago. Service is ok...staff aren't overly chatty and we ended up having a different waitperson serve us for each course which isn't great. I had the seafood pasta which was good..the portions are a nice size, not massive. The desserts are very good in there, especially the chocolate cake. All in all it's a nice place but a little bit pricey

Ate here on Sunday evening. Arrived in and were seated quite quickly. Water and glasses were brought to the table but the menu's didn't get to us for about 15 mins when we finally gave in and asked to see them. We ordered straight away, I had the thai seafood salad and my friend had the deep fried mushrooms. We were both pleased with what we go. For main she had the creole chicken burger and I had the blues burger. Both were really good. As there is a cocktail menu we both indulged, I had an After Eight and it was really nice. For dessert she had the pavlova and I had the double chocolate tort, we were both enjoyed our choices. When we went to pay I found it was a tad expensive for what we really got. I would go back to Currans but not in a hurry!

It’s not cheap but it’s good! The steak is a very popular option!! Nice restaurant. Always happy to take groups-which always endears a restaurant to me. Handy for small Christmas dinner/team dinner, etc. handy location - not far to pubs/clubs.

A family favourite. Food never disappoints. However, I've noticed a decline in service over the last few visits e.g. very slow to take your order, having to ask repeatedly for dessert/coffee orders. Please don't get complacent with the service in an otherwise wonderful restaurant guys!
