Not our first time to eat here, but possibly the last. We were in quite early, 17:30, and the only diners at the time. The atmosphere was a bit stilted with no music, but that seemed to have been because of a electrical mains issue and was rectified soon after. Our waitress was very kind and polite throughout the whole meal. We both ordered a main course, with a starter to come out the same time as the main. I had a tagliatelle with chicken, onions and spinach in a pink creamy sauce and my partner had the steak special with pepper sauce and chips. For the starter we ordered the breaded mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella and nutmeg. The mushrooms came first and the cheese had solidified in a cold lump. The nutmeg flavour was very over powering and there was a consistency of being heated in the microwave. A little after that, our main course arrived. My pasta was overcooked and the sauce was quite tasteless. There was also a quarter of a tomato and some shredded iceberg lettuce sunken into the dish, for what purpose I don't know. My partners described the steak as good, not tough or chewy, but found the pepper sauce to be tasteless, with a watery grey colour and the chips so overcooked that they were hard. My pasta came with some garlic bread, more of which was given free throughout the meal. We were so disappointed as our previous visits were always so delicious and amazing. This was possibly the worst meal I've eaten all year.

I dined here after a long day of shopping. The food was tasty. The menu was a bit average for the price. The staff are really friendly so the service was really good. Would definitely go again. Nice atmosphere. Trendy little restaurant, loved the decor.

I have been going here for the past few years and not once have I been disappointed. This maybe due to the fact I don't change my order much but anyway. I have to complement there garlic bread and mozzarella cheese, I've never seen or tasted anything like this before and i have been in Italy 3 times it's delicious. For the main course I usually get spaghetti or lasagna and these too are delicious. ts a nice cozy setting with lovely staff and at a great price. Highly recommended.

First visited this restaurant on Valentines Day 2009 after a recommedation and was completely happy with the Italian. The atmosphere was cosy and the food was absolutely deliscious. On that particular visit I had Bruschetta for starters and I have to say it was one of the best bruschetta's i ever tried.I also have to reccomend their colliflower soup, its really delicious!Definitely one of the best Italian's in Cork city.

Food was perfect, brought the family as in Cork for a weekend and although I almost walked by this restaurant as it is not very pleasing to the eye but menu looked good and food was definitely delightful. Tried pasta dishes & 2 chicken dishes between us and sauces were delicious. Waitress was very friendly and service good. Will definitely go back when in Cork again.

Castelli's is a small, cosy restaurant with a decent range of food - not all of which is Italian. You get decent sized portions and it's very reasonable, especially the wine-list, although it is somewhat limited. I found the customer service very good; waitresses were friendly and attentive and garlic bread was provided free of charge. I wanted to change the type of pasta that came with my dish and it was not a problem. I thought the food (chicken and spinach dish in a tomato-based sauce) was delicious. Overall, it's great for a cheap, quick eat with generous portions. Don't come here with expectations of a very fancy, exclusively Italian restaurant and you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Italian? I think not! We came here with a friend for her birthday on a misguided recommendation. Walking in the door I began to have serious doubts about the place. To begin with it is seriously cramped with a tiny walkway wedged between two aisles of seating in what I would call a large living area sized room. We eventually were greeted by a waitress after waiting in the doorway for several minutes despite the fact that we had a booking. We then had to wait for her to clear a table that had been empty since we arrived. We finally were seated at a hideously designed table with an upward facing light. This shone in our faces so much that we eventually had to cover with napkins. We decided to order off the early bird menu as we were not happy so far. The choices were extremely limited, we all opted for garlic bread with mozerella to the amusement of the waitress, two of us then choose lasagne for and the other chose pollo parmgiano for our main courses. The pollo dish was offered with either pasta or chips quite strangely. The starters were bland, tasteless and doughy, we complained to the waitress but this was not even acknowledged or taken seriously. The main courses were even worse with the lasagne being bland, tasteless and chewy. The pollo dish was disgusting being salty, drowning in an attempt at a tomato sauce with the pasta coming in a seperate dish for some bizarre reason. After our previous complaint was ignored we did not bother to raise another complaint. However one of our party attempted a dessert of black forest gateau but it was clear from the ice crystals that it was shop bought. Overall one of the worst "dining experiences" of my life and I would strongly advise againt giving this restaurant any custom.

From the moment I arrived I knew it wouldn't be dining experience of the year. There was a musty smell permeating the dining room and the bench style seats were so cramped together, breathing was difficult. We had booked the table, yet had to wait ten minutes to be seated, as a table was being cleared that had been vacant since we arrived. Playing it safe we ordered from the early bird, a good, cost effective way to suss out a restaurant. The choices were very limited. Startes comprised garlic bread with our without mozzarella, soup or garlic mushrooms. Mains: Lasagne, Pollo Parmegiano and 2 other pasta dishes that weren;t very appealing. The waitress rudely found it very amusing that we all went for the same starter and that my 2 companions ordered the same main course. The starters were completely bland, if there was any garlic it was very elusive. And when I complained, I was barely acknowledged. The main courses arrived. My main of Pollo Parmegiano was offered with a choice of accompaniment, pasta or chips. I chose pasta which oddly came in a seperate bowl. The dish itself was parmesan cumbed chicken breast doing a breast stroke in a poor attempt at tomato sauce. I could taste little else but salt. The lasagnes were bland and rubbery. How our dining companion could stomach a dessert is completely beyond me. Needless to say, the Blackforest Gateau was clearly bought in and not homemade. The ice crystals gave it away. Will never set foot in the door again. Service was poor, food was diabolical and this restaurant should be ashamed to hijack the art of Italian cuisine.

Hairs in two separate dishes! Terrible customer service. Out of 3 main dishes, we found hairs in 2! Customer service was deplorable. We received an apology for the first dish (which contained a short hair). However, the waitress tried to charge us for the second dish (with a long hair) - She said that her hair was tied back and the chefs hair was short, so she didn't know where it came from!!! I thought I was in an episode of Faulty Towers! I have eaten here on numerous occasions and was always very happy. However, I was shocked by this episode and will obviously never return.

Was a bit disappointed. I booked the restaurant having read the great reviews on here - it was ok but i have eaten in a lot nicer cheap and cheerful italians. The pizzas were good, but the pasta was bland and stodgy and the chicken and meat dishes were plain. I wouldnt return.

We had an early dinner at Castellis this afternoon. We arrived at 2:30 and had the place to ourselves (on a Friday afternoon). The restaurant is small, but cozy and clean, and we were immediately greeted, seated, and settled in with menus and water. We ordered the garlic bread & mozzarella cheese starter, and I ordered a tossed salad. The service was prompt and very friendly. Both bread and salad arrived in a timely manner, were presented attractively, and tasted very good. I ordered the 10" pizza from the luncheon menu, and my husband ordered the Tagliatelle Pollo from the dinner menu. We were both pleased with our entrees. My husband is certain, in fact, that he'll order the same pasta dish again when we return (and we will DEFINITELY go back). The portions were generous and our server was warm and attentive. After our meal, we ordered a slice of Bailey's cheesecake, which was rich and delicious, and again, presented very nicely. Our entire meal came to 36 euro, not including tip. I recommend this restaurant, though I'd love to see a larger variety of meatless options on the menu. The food, service, and value really can't be beat.

Stumbled across this little place recently and have been there twice in last couple weeks.. Its full of ambiance and staff are great. The food is really good, filling, and home made. Offers great value for money and is a great place to go when you want a really warm and satisfying meal1 Would definately recommend it... also appears to be open at times when most other restuarants are closed around 4 or 5pm on a Sunday.

Without doubt, this is one of Cork's finest restaurants. Whenever I go there I am always impressed and in my opinion it has the best steak in Cork. Staff and service are top class and I recommend it without hesitation.

It's not haute cuisine, but Castelli's is great value, quiet (suits very well for a romantic meal) and does a brilliant early bird menu. It's robust Italian cooking at its best. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I am so happy to be able to recommend this amazing restaurant. I stumbled across it while staying in Cork city. Having shortly returned from Italy, I was expecting to find the food a bit of a let down. Not so. The food is fabulous, right on par with what you will get over in Italy itself. We tried the pizza and pollo alla boscailo both of which were perfectly cooked and tasted divine. Staff were very friendly and service was quick, perfect portion size. Best of all was the price which was much less that what you would expect to pay for this quality of a meal - very strongly recommended

I go there quite regularly with the girls for the early bird menu. The food is great, the staff are lovely and I have only been disappointed once when my lasagne was over cooked. All in all excellent.
