Ate here before going to a show in the Opera House. We were running late and let the staff know and in fairness the food go delivered very quickly. The waitress advised what food would get delivered the fastest and all, she was great. Looking at the menu, I definitely plan to go back as it looked great and wish I'd had more time to try some of the fish dishes.

Service was great to our party of 4, our waitress was very pleasant and attentive to our table. I've never had a bad dining experience at Cafe Bar Deli, the food was of top standard and is very well priced, and the different portion size options cater for all appetites.

I visit here often as a place to have a casual lunch and am never let down.Great location, good service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Interesting menu and the lunch/dinner portion sizes are a great idea that more restaurants should take to too.Nice interior that is let down by the closeness of the tables and small tears in the upholstery.

Our family ate here last Saturday afternoon. It was very busy and the restaurant appeared to be very understaffed. We had to call the waitress to take our order and again over 20 minutes later to check were our order was. On the positive side, the food was good, reasonable, and well presented and the kids meals were particularly good value, with kids pizza's ranging between €5 and €5.5 and kids ice creams at €1.50. I ate penne with butternut squash sauce and chorizo - portions are big so small size at €13 was enough. It was delicious My husband ate pizza at €15, which he pronounced 'ok'! A few more staff on the run up to Christmas would make a great improvement.

Up until a year and a half ago, I was a regular visitor to Café Bar Deli. I since moved from Cork and my first visit back to the restaurant was two weekends ago and, oh my, what a change has occurred! We were seated on the banquet downstairs and I noticed it was torn in several places. The brown paper covering the table is terrible looking – surely there are other alternatives to it? The restaurant lacked atmosphere as it wasn’t half full and diners were seated far from each other – perhaps concentrating them to the front of the restaurant would be better? The menu has shrinked a lot since I was last there but they also have a specials board to choose from. I chose the bread and dips to start with and the goat’s cheese pizza to follow. The bread was fresh and the dips were very tasty – clearly made from good ingredients. The pizza was also very tasty and our wine was very enjoyable too. The service wasn’t the best at all because although the waitresses were efficient, they were quite unfriendly. It seems that Café Bar Deli can still make very tasty food at reasonable prices but they seem to be letting themselves go in all other areas, which is a pity. They offer good value for money, which all diners are looking for in these times but the lack of trimmings won’t keep diners coming back.

Myself, my husband and little boy visited Café Bar Deli on a Saturday after six p.m. We did not have a booking but there were plenty of tables available. I asked for the table in the corner by the window as it is more roomy(especially when you have high chair, buggy and all the paraphernalia a baby comes with!) The lady said she would ask the manager but that normally they would keep that table for four people. She returned to say it was booked and she couldn't accommodate. I was disappointed as I felt she was being insincere and the table we were given was the tiniest space a restaurant should give two people not to mind two people with a baby. This made for an uncomfortable eating experience throughout our whole meal as our food was too close to our baby and of course he was trying to get his hands on it, it was fortunate that there was a large table beside us that was free so that we could put our drinks and half our plates on it! Our food was very tasty however, the goats cheese pizza was delicious, my husband's chili and sausage pizza was excellent too. The service was not 'real' or personal and I felt we were not valued especially as nobody came to fill the four seated table we asked for until we were leaving...we could have sat there! To summarize we would have ordered more food, stayed longer, given a nice tip and there would be a definite possibility of a return visit if we were placed properly from the start. I would recommend this restaurant if you are out for a quick bite for lunch or dinner and are not too fussy on service but not for a long languished romantic meal and not with children either.

I was here on saturday few weeks ago for a luch wih my best friend. This is a really good spot for lunches and I have also been to a birthday due here upstairs so can cater for a big group. they serve a good range of pizzas and pastas, salads, so it is very much casual dining here. They are good at what they do but i probably wouldn't come here for a special occasions. I had the cesar salad with bacon and chiken and it was delicious. the waitress was ok but i think she lacked 'warmth' if people know what I mean. Overall I would recommend the place but I would say for lunches rather than formal dinners

The menu in Cafe Bar Deli's has changed recently and overall it still offers nice food at a reasonable price. There is always a really delicious soup or two on offer and I had a lovely butternut squash and spinach one. My pasta which followed was very tasty. The one thing I don't like is the brown paper table covering instead of the paper menus used previous.

Cafe bar deli is always busy and has a good atmosphere. The food is good and as a vegetarian it provides more creative options than the usual tired offerings in other places. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. One complaint, the seating is very cramped.

I went there for my birthday with a large group of family members and we were seated upstairs and were the only people up there which was completely devoid of atmosphere. However the service was very good and it was like we had our own waitresses for the time we were there. The food was very good and looked very appetising too. Only recently I returned with my fiance for lunch and found that the menu had been decreased in size and lunchtime service was chaotic to say the least. Despite all of this it is well worth a visit as the food is quite yummy :)

I was here for a birthday meal with 7 friends. They originally stuck us upstairs where we were the only ones and there was no atmosphere, but happily accomodated us downstairs when we requested a move. Service was very good in general although two people had to change their order as one of the starters was no longer available. The food overall was standard - fresh but sameish - and not the best Italian by any means. But good value for money and nice friendly atmosphere.

have dinner here a few weeks ago, service was nice but not amazing, food was average, carbanara pasta was pretty bland, brownie lacked sweetness which is a shame really, but the most surprising thing was the price at the end,40euro's for a pasta dish, dessert and a few beers with a bread starter with 3 pieces of old bread and loads of breadsticks, word on the street is that everything is homemade, maybe so but a bit of salt and pepper here and there might help!

The place has a nice atmosphere and is well layed out, it would suit a special night out, as well as a casual eat. We thought the food was very tastey. We only got one pizza which we shared and it was very satisfying! (the no.7 veggie pizza). However what is very dissapointing is that the only size pizzas are small or medium - no large, so its not sharing friendly. The food was ready within minutes, which was good. Another complaint is that we were waiting nearly half an hour for somebody to come and collect the bill from us, we eventually got up to give it to the waitress ourselves, this is strange as the place wasnt even really busy. After tasting that pizza though, would be interested on returning to see if the rest of the menu is as nice

A Late afternoon lunch. The service was good as was the surroundings. But the food needs to improve. The mussels starter was the real let down. Both diners ageed the mussels were not very fresh. The spag bol was average. Good Chrismasy feel with the place bustling with Christmas Shoppers

Went here for lunch and didn't quite like the food at all. They tend to add a lot of nuts to pasta dishes which I wasn't keen on and I've definately had much nicer Italian food in Cork city. Wouldn't be in a rush to return here!

Hadn't been here in a while and after our recent trip was thinking we'll have to go more often. There's a pleasant atmosphere here with low lighting and trendy staff that are very helpful. Dishes were served very quickly and were delish. Had the Calzone with roast pork, sage, rocket, carmalized onion, tomato & mozzerella. I was impressed with the various other imaginative pizza toppings they were using there. The vegetarian linguine looked great too and another of our party had the brownie to finished which was a massive portion and incredibly more-ish. Murphy's & Heineken are available on tap which is a bonus on top of the great value for money.

We had visitors arriving the Aug weekend with small kids so we did a trial run here on Wed 29th Jul. We were hugely impressed as always but sometimes you just think you're lucky as can it really be consistently good? Absolutely! With our full contingent of 5 small kids and 4 adults, we arrived Sun 2nd Aug. Attentive, friendly staff looked after us so well. A lovely menu, the food is yum and extremely good value. Best family restaurant around Cork.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Have been here for dinner mostly and couldn't fault it. Food is excellent and very reasonable. Superb staff with a friendly and efficient service. Great atmosphere and very comfortable. I've been here on numerous occasions and each time I have had a delicious meal and an overall great experience. Whenever my friend decide to go for dinner we always choose CBD now. Going there next week for a friend's birthday and I can't wait!

Cheap and cheerful are the best words to describe this restaurant. Food is okay but nothing to write home about, service is friendly and swift. The place is buzzing so the atmosphere is alwas good. A great place for groups as ours of 10 girls plus one bloke. Chef on duty looks a bit sour around the dining room but the rest of the staff made up for his sour face.

I joined two friends for dinner at this restaurant and found it good. I ordered the chicken tika and bacon salad and could not finish it, they kindly wrapped it for take home instead. I enjoyed my meal and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, my two friends found their pasta to be bland and tasteless.

I visit this restaurant regularly, and the food is consistantly good. The menu is interesting and regularly updated, fresh ingredients used and very good value. I especially enjoy the dinner salads. I also like the fact that they serve smaller "lunch portions" of salads and pasta, as I often find I can't finish large dinner portions. Service is generally very good, staff are friendly and efficent. Good selection of beers & wines, but these are a little pricey. Overall good, & definitely recommended!

Arrived here about 8 pm without a reservation - really lively place but people seem to move on quickly so no problem getting a table. Staff seemed really friendly and efficient. We both had bruschetta to start with buffalo mozzarella, tomato pesto, really flavoursome. I had the wholewheat spaghetti with roasted aubergines, toasted hazelnuts, cherry tomatoes, ricotta, rocket and lemon oil with fresh parmesan shavings, absolutely gorgeous! My partner had the seafood spaghetti which included squid, crab sticks etc all in a spicy tomato sauce, he wasn't mad about it, thought my choice was tastier. All washed down with a nice bottle of merlot/shiraz - can't wait to go back!!!

I really enjoy going here. It is easy to get a table early in the evening. It's very relaxing and the staff are usually very nice. I love the bread and dips for starters, but the first time we ordered it, the waitress could have mentoned that one serving would have done the two of us. But they never have a problem swopping the olives out for other dips. I've never had a bad dinner there either pizza or pasta. Don't really like it for big groups as once got put in very long narrow table near door and wasn't very comfortable. But love heading in for quick bite before going to cinema or opera house. Can feel slightly squashed at very busy times as tables are very close.

Ate here recently as part of a group of seven. The food was ok - nothing spectacularly brilliant or bad. The service was a bit slow, and being right by the kitchen serving counter was a bit off-putting, as was the location of our table right in the middle of the restaurant - it felt a bit cramped. A service charge was added onto the bill, so at least we didn't have to sort out a tip at the end. I would probably eat here again, but it wouldn't be in my top five restaurants - a "does what it says on the tin" kind of place.

Went here on a Friday night with two friends, without reservations and the place was packed. We were asked to wait at the counter for a few minutes until a table was cleared for us. The food was great, we had pizza and pasta between us. One of us is a vegetarian, and she had plenty of choice from the menu. The specials are great, they change daily, so watch the board! Service is very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The only (minor) negative point is that it is a bit crammed downstairs. Next time I might ask for a table upstairs. This is definitely a very good place to have dinner and get value for money, while enjoying yourself.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and eat there regularly. It is not very formal and is a great place to eat at any time of the day or night. The pasta dishes are always a good bet -although the salads come a close second. The wine list could be a little bit longer....

Just read through some of the reveiws and being a regular customer eating a couple of times a week - its like a second home. to all those looking to book a table - they started taking bookings over christmas - not that we ever needed to as we were always looked after. they also started doing casseroles which are truly wholesome and perhaps filled that gap that was once there for all those meaty people. they change on a weekly basis aswell as the daily specials.this place is truly a gem as i believe thay make everything on the premises which in todays market is a rarity... long may it continue.

Have never heard a bad word about cafe bar deli, and for good reason. It serves very nice food at great prices- that's the long and the short of it. Highlights would be the antipasto misto and the blue cheese and mushroom pizza, but nearly everything on the menu is tasty. One thing that they don't do is put the specials on the board outside the restaurant-they just tell you when you sit down.A small criticism for an otherwise very nice spot!

Love this restaurant for a casual lunch. Menu is great - pasta, fabulous salads, pizza, etc. Their salads are very inventive and are a welcome change from the usual limp lettuce. They do a great appetiser of bread with dips - very tasty. Manager is very attentive. No problem with bringing children either. Can see the food being prepared in front of you. Well worth a visit.

Excellent restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere...my wife recommended this restaurant and I was very pleased with the experience...the selection of menu items was varied and very different mixes of flavours and tastes...the salads are excellent and varied with some great Goats Cheese options...you can see your food being cooked and prepared which is also great...service was great with a warm welcome and good table service...highly recommend it for great value and taste...

Cafe Bar Deli is great for Saturday lunch when in town with the kids and you need great quality simple dishes in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are the best in Cork.

Love cafe bar deli. Never a disappointing meal. The only downside is that they don't have meat dishes but that's the only down side. The fudge brownie dessert is to die for!!

Very nice food. Friendly staff and good selection of pizzas and pastas. The only down side was that it gets busy quickly and you could be waiting to be served.

Clean, reasonable, good service, nice atmosphere and good food if pizza, pasta and salads are your desire. Can't book a table but staff will gladly find you a space to have a drink while you wait.

Excellent restaurant if you like olives, nice breads, hummous, funky pizzas and pastas. Service was very good and all the wait staff were very helpful for me with 2 small children
