Love going here. It's great value for money and the food is always terrific. Staff are attentive and the take-away is pretty decent too.

Really love this place. The food is amazing. Went here for lunch one Sunday, it opens about 12:30 and we were 2nd in the door. The restaurant started filling up very quickly - I was so surprised as I wouldn't consider Sunday lunchtime to be peak time. I'd assume everyone was there for the great value lunch menu of 9.95 for a main course plus tea/coffee. It's really good value. The food was genuinely amazing. I got a prawn thai green curry with egg fried rice. I cleaned the plate, would recommend this dish in particular to anyone. The egg fried rice is lovely, not too greasy. You can ask for your dish to be mild, spicy or hot. The restaurant itself is lovely. Only complaint is it was quite cold as the restaurant had only opened.

I've been to this restaurant a few times and I keep going back because the food is so good and great value. I would say it's the best Thai food in Cork and the service is really good also. They have a set menu which runs late enough most days starter+main+ tea/coffee or main+dessert+tea/coffee for €16.50! Portions are generous and the only thing I can fault really is that sometimes it can be a bit chilly in there and maybe a bit more decoration & some background Thai music to make it feel more atmospheric. But the service and food are second to none.

I normally dont eat thai food but one day I was passing this restaurant and I wanted to try something new so I had the chicken and cashew nut stir fry. It was really nice I had to leave half of it behind as the portions here are very big! I would recommend everyone to go here and give it a go- you might surprise yourself and actually like the food!

This place never lets me down, whether for takeaway or eat in. Gaeng Massaman is the best on the menu. Portions for main course are very large so careful on the starters. Only drawback is the atmosphere (not the place for a romantic meal). On taste and price its not beaten among Thai Restaurants in Cork.

There was a group of us ate in this restaurant and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. We ate a combination of starters which were all excellent, in particular the spring rolls and the prawns in a blanket. For mains we had a variety of curries; the thai green curry and the red curry were both amazing. One of the group also had the pad khing which was excellent. Although the restaurant was very quiet on the night the staff were excellent. We have also ordered take-away food from this restaurant and the food was of the same quality and delivered really quickly.

I absolutely love this restaurant, not just because my favourite cusin is Thai. The food here is really genuine and the staff really do go the extra mile for you and are always smiley and make you feel welcome. I always go for the green curry but they do have a good choice of other curries as well. I would say thatt the place is very unpretentious, probably not a place for a very special occasion but it all depends what you are into. But i guess when I eat out the service and food is on top of my list so i would most definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Went here for dinner after work with some friends. Had a special offer that day, free drinks with food including beer and wine. Ordered the steamed fresh sea bass with chilli and ginger, asked for mild. Fish was obviously not fresh, but the sauce tasted delicious and still quite spicy. Most dishes don't include rice. The waitress got some of the orders mixed up, gave one of us a chicken dish instead of pork and fried rice instead of boiled rice, but we didn't mind on this occasion. Had banana fritters for dessert, quite interesting. Would try this place again sometime in the future although not too impressed on this occasion.

This is my favourite restaurant. Never miss a chance whenever I'm in Cork. The decor is lovely. The staff is very friendly & nice. I love the tom yum soup starter they have here, and my favourite main dish would spicy prawn pad thai noodles. I never disappointed whenever I come, they really work hard to keep the good standard. I would recommend them to my friends, & certainly come back here again.

This is a very nice little restaurant! Went with my boyfriend for dinner. When you enter you think it might be lacking some thai decoration maybe, its quite plain. But the food makes totally up for it. We went for a set menu for 2, there was one set starter, which was a choice of all there starters on the menu!!! Then we could choose two main courses from a selection of about 10 or 12 and also got fried and boiled rice, mixed veg and coffe for 24euro per person! The food itsself was very nice, cooked to perfection. Nice thai flavours and I really liked the little starters with the dipping sauces! Will definitly return!

Having ordered takeaway from here before we knew the food was going to be lovely, we weren't disappointed - we each had a starter, I had the prawn toasts (absolutely lovely) and my boyfriend had the prawn blankets which were also delicious, the prawns were very fresh. I had the "highly recommended" Tiger Steak, which was nice (meat cooked really well) but a bit sickening by the end of it, my bf had the green curry, and it did not disappoint. Dessert was OK, didn't taste freshly prepared but it was fine. I'm glad I had read a few reviews before going there for dinner as I would've been disappointed if I was expecting a very fancy restaurant, it is plainly laid out and quite cold and slightly lacking in atmosphere but the service was excellent and the food was delicious so this more than made up for it. The wine price list was very reasonable which I wasn't expecting, a couple of choices of wines for less than E20. Overall we had a lovely meal in Banna Thai and would go back, it's obviously well liked (not one free table in the restaurant) - I will definitely get takeaway from here again and will go back for a meal for a casual occasion.

This is a lovely Thai restuarant. Usually, I come here with my mother and we get 1 main course and 1 extra portion of rice between us- the portions here are absolutely huge so this is more than enough! Its very good value for money and the cashew nut stir fry is a personal favourite- definitely worth a try!

The food here is wonderful....Best Thai in Cork! Really good value as well. My only down side was the comfort of the restaurant..we were seated between the bathroom door and the Kitchen area. There was a slight language problem since the waitresses didnt seem to have much english-which caused a few rather interesting scenes! However id still come back here again and again since the food was so good! :)

Three of us came here Saturday night for dinner. We each only had the main course. I had the Thai Red Curry which was absolutely delicious, portions were huge and I couldn't finish it. The price was very reasonable and the location as well was the atmosphere was very good. The English of the staff wasn't the best, with there being a good bit of confusion when trying to order...for example my friend wanted her vegetables with just the Soy Sauce instead of the Soy sauce and Oyster Sauce, and they thought she meant she only wanted a bowl of soy sauce for her dinner lol. But in the end it was all good. Would recommend this place and will go there again myself again.

I really enjoyed my meal in Banna Thai. It was my first time there as I don't live in Cork, and it was great. It is a small restaurant and I was there with a group of friends. We were well catered for. We all enjoyed our meals, with the only complaint being the level of spiciness. I would not fault the restaurant for this though, as you are allowed to specify the level of spiciness - mild, medium, spicy, or hot. So it really is your own fault if you tell them the wrong level. I had the tom-yam goong (spich & sour prawn soup) and it was fab. I also had the prawn red curry and it was delish. Some of my friends had pad thai (sp?) and raved about it. We also found the service to be very good, and left very happy.

Had the 3 Course Early Bird at €18.95, incredible value fro money, the food was great and the selection was varied, something I wouldnt have expected with the price. My only complaint was with the atmosphere, it was very quiet, it was a weeknight when we were in, and Im sure it is much better at the weekend. Will definitely return!!

Reasonable prices and food Their tom yam goong/gai soup never disappoints. Their green curry is a little reminiscent of something preprepared but decent enough. The Pad thai is pretty good too. The best part is that they deliver.

I had lunch here on a Saturday and it was lovely. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious especially the yellow curry. There was a really good selection to choose from and many of the dishes are very light. Perfect for lunch. I'm definately going to try it for dinner some time

I often go to this restaurant when out shopping in town. Service is rapid. I love the Thai rice with chicken, and the yellow curry is just delicious. I did have one experience a little while back though. Went to Banna Thai on a thursday at about 6pm. I went with my brother, his wife, and their 2yr old daughter. They had called and made a reservation (even for so early in the day) and made it known they were bringing a child. There were 4 other people in the restaurant (2 couples). My neice started crying to get into her dads lap, but he was saying no - as they were the rules of dinner - but being out in town, a child will act up to get what they want as they know that being in public and making a scene works! My brother doesn't believe in that though, and said no, until she started to quiten down and got distracted by food. The crying lasted maybe 3-4 minutes before my brother won the fight! The waitress came up to our table and told my brother and his wife that one of the couples had left the restaurant because their child was crying. My brother was immediately embarrassed and angry. At that stage it's not a constructive comment considering the people had already left the restaurant. We left there as soon as we had finished eaten and haven't gone back since. Very rude

I eat at Banna Thai quite often mostly at lunchtimes ever since I happened upon it on Maylor Street the first week they opened! The staff there are lovely and efficient. The decor is nice but nothing too special - not really to my own taste but acceptable. The food is good quality thai. It won't be the best thai you'll ever taste but its good honest lunchtime fare. Their green and red curries are good as are the pad thai, tom yung gai (excuse the spelling), noodle dishes and fried rice dishes. I reckon the chef changed about a year ago as the standard isn't quite as good as it used to be but its still quite good all the same.

I was passing by after church service and thought of trying the food as I love Thai. It was a good choice, as I really enjoyed my food. I ordered red curry chicken. I must say that when it says spicy, it meant it! I can tolerate extra spicy food as I'm Asian, and I must say it is authentic. Well done! I would like to try other dishes again.

A very high standard Chinese restaurant. A little on the pricey side but worth paying a bit extra for great quality food. It's been a while since I've eaten here but always looking for an opportunity to return.
