This place is located on the crossroads near bishopstown bar. The restaurant is small enough but the food is really nice, proper authentic indian cuisine and the garlic naan bread is to die for. I usually go for the chicken tikka masala which has a lovely creamy sauce and full of flavour. The only thing with this place is that it is expensive enough and all the extras really start to add up like rice, naans, small starters etc. We paid €70 for 2courses and one bottle of wine which is fairly good I suppose considering how nice the food was.

This is by far the beat indian restaurant in cork city, have to admit i am surprised that it has not had a review because it is that nice. Wether it is a sit down meal or takeaway the standard of food remains delicious. Service is good and not overpriced. My only place to eat indain in cork, FACT

Have eaten here also quiet a few times, both take-away and sit down. Restaurant as a previous reviewer has described is Narrow and Cold. The restaurant is always quiet, and doesnt really have a great atmosphere; given that the food in here is probably one of the best in Cork for Indian cuisine. Although the food in here is great, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant is very poor. - Patrick

I have been to Spice of India numerous times but only once for a sit in meal as I find the restaurant very narrow, cold and usually really empty so the atmosphere is terrible. As a take away the food is very good, my favourite is the butter chicken tikka really creamy and delicious. My problem with Spice of India is that it has happened on a few occasions where they have totally got our order wrong and we have had to wait in one case over 1 hour for our take away! I also think that it is a little overpriced for what you get there is never much meat in main courses, mostly sauce. The food is very good but it is a shame about some other features.

Spice of India in my opinion is the best Indian restaurant in Cork. Their prawn jalfrezi is out of this world .. spicy (not too spicy) and succulent. Lovely starters and of course complimentary popadoms!!! The staff are lovely but they cannot seem to cope with large groups .. its narrow and tends to be very cold during the winter .. but apart from that its a great restaurant. Just wrap up well!!!!

My favourite Indian restaurant in Cork. Extremely tasty and friendly staff. Their phone can be a bit annoying if they have a lot of requests for take aways. But that can only be a good sign of the food!

I have eaten in Spice of India and had take outs from there many times. It offers a delicious alternative to other take-away facilities. The food is amazing and never fails to please... they serve a massive range of dishes and their Naan bread is fantastic. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely with dim lighting and dark colours offering a haven of relaxation. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices for take-away food can be a little expensive but it's more than worth it. Definitely the best take-away place this side of the city (and possibly in the whole of Cork)

Spice of India is one of the few indian restaurants where very spicy food is served if requested. Many restauranteurs do not believe that Europeans can eat a vindaloo for example but in Spice of India meals can be as mild & creamy or as hot & spicy as one can handle! Great tasting food served by waiting staff that make the customer feel appreciated. Great value meals and it is a struggle to finish a starter with main course and a naan. Excellent value, service and food. I highly recommend it. So good it's difficult not to go there! Also serve take-out but sit-down meal seem to be better value as portions seem to be larger & there's no washing up.
