Excellent value & extensive menu. Only flaw is while restaurant quiet (to be expected on a bank holiday Monday lunch time) the service was a bit too "over eager"

Grand for a quick bite and if you are heading to the cinema afterwards but the menu lacks imagination and the food is bland. On the plus side it is child friendly and in a handy location if shopping in ballincollig.Nothing special!

.I booked at short notice on New Year’s Day. The place was busy and had a good atmosphere with couples and families alike. The food is always good - I usually have the triple pasta and my wife usually have the pizza, this time we had the burgers which were great!! The children licked their plates. The staff was very good to us and the kids. great place to go, We will be going again

Greeting and smiles, On arrival and throughout our meal the staff were very polite, friendly and attentative. The food was absolutley delicious and cooked to how you asked. We had a table which was looking out on the big forecourt of cinema and shops which is nice. Would go back again and again. Price, as always they could do a little better. Overall, well worth the experience. Arrive hungry as there is a lot of food.

We had dinner last weekend and have been raving about it to friends everywhere since. It was a fabulous evening starting with the wine our pre-dinner drinks and whet the appetite. We shied away from the Tasting Menu fearing it would be too much and opted for the Seasonal Dinner Menu and loved every bit of it from the little Parfait appetiser, my starter of garlic Mushroom and my boyfriend's Scampi after which we enjoyed the T-bone steak and chargrilled chicken. Had to wait a while before I could order dessert but was determined to partake eventhough he couldn't fit another forkful. I had the Banoffee pie and the only unfortunate part was having to share. Everything was beautifully done, service friendly but professional, great wine list, fabulous food and some great music in the background. Can't wait to go back and this time try the Tasting Menu.

Plaza is a truly genuine pizza creater, even their pizzas are better than some american chains of pizza makers. Plaza has a lovely ambience, nice fresh table settings and lovely decor. The menu is excellent with a wide variety. Sunday we visited, I've eaten many times in the restaurant but would like to avail the fantastic take away service they have, which I have used on several occasions. Everything comes in separate compartments from the burger/steak to the lovely tossed salad with freshly chopped tomatoes and basil, so you don't have a soggy meal. You also get the genuine homecut chips! Their pizzas are divine, you've a choice of deep pan or thin crust with lovely ham, pepporoni and salami, all good real Irish produce. Prices are fantastic too, well worth a call for a take away and they have recently started up a free delivery service too.

How could the previous reviewers get it so wrong! Really, if you don't know what good food is, you shouldn't be writing glowing reviews about an establishment. Based on the recommendations on this website, I went with my extended family to this restaurant. It was, at best, mediocre. I ordered a fish based pasta, the pasta was overcooked and the sauce greasy. The starters, in general were greasy and lacking presentation - salad without dressing. As for the Pizza, my husband said that it was easily the worst he has ever tasted and being a pizza fan, that's saying a lot. Poor, poor, poor and very disappointing.

I had the pleasure to dine in Plaza Bistro recently. The staff were very welcoming and very patient as I have to pick and choose my food carefully as I can't eat dairy produce. The menu definitely catered for every palette. There was a great selection of fresh fish to choose from and I went for the COD - which was delicious, it was served with a very light garlic sauce which was on the side as I asked it to be. My husband and friends had the Lomon Sole, which looked divine. The meal came affordable including wine between 5 of us - no Service charges. which was great value. There was a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone seemed to be savouring the lingering sunshine that was outside and bringing in indoors. Overall - a very pleasant experience and I will definitely go back sooner rather than later, I am getting hungry thinking about it.

We have eaten in this restaurant for many years. We never once had a bad meal or bad service. New menu is introduced recently with added starters, main courses and desserts. Specials of the day is available on weekends. The thing that surprised me, they are delivering food too. Staff are great. Everyone is professional warm and happy. The size of the meal is fantastic, never left the restaurant feeling anything other than satisfied. They will cater for anyone, even fussy me who is not a great meat eater. Fantastic value for the center of ballincollig town, and wonderful anytime of year, even if run of their feet at say the races time, staff never get cross. well recommended over and over.

I have to say I am not as impressed as other reviewers. We go to lunch here from work sometimes. The portions are huge, which is not a positive for me & the food is really only average. Service is very slow, I mentioned to the girl whom I paid that it was too slow for us on a lunch-break, she told me to call in my order in advance in future! This should not be necessary, an hour should be plenty of time for a 2 course lunch. Definitely underwhelmed.

Sorry but I could not resist saying soemthing. The Plaza is one of the nicest restaurants in around the Cork area that I have been too. The staff are always welcoming and very friendly which means everything today as some places you feel like you are bothering the waiters if you want to order. The food is fab anytime I have been there the selection is always fantastic and there has never been a problem with the food it is always done to the T...Keep up the great work

The plaza in Ballincollig is linked with good food at a good price. It is a fierce popular restaurant. To start you could pay a visit to the salad bar, with olives, breadsticks, pasta etc very fresh. For main I always have the Ninas Pasta Mista, which is a pasta dish, combining Spaghetti Bolganase, Carbonara and a Vegeroni Pasta. It's served with garlic bread and you can add chilli flakes and parmesan cheese. Mmmmm, my sister always gets the Pizza Platter, which is a pizza, wedges and coleslaw - absolutely divine and served on a lovely large black plate with slices of orange amongst salad, also if you have a sweet tooth try out the Mississipi Mud Pie, it tastes like Crunchie. One of my favourite restaurants.
