The team really took great care of us last night. From the moment we entered, we were welcomed. Sitting in the foyer area, the specials were explained, our orders were taken and drinks and canapés served. We were brought to our table and the starters were brought in a timely manner - creamy seafood chowder and a tasty duck pate. Main courses of salmon and pork belly were delicious as were the desserts. Petit fours were served with good quality coffee and free refills. All this for EUR37.50 - great value.
Extensive wine list as well as full bar available.
Nothing was too much trouble, staff were friendly, taking time to chat briefly as they served.

Went here on a Saturday night. Beautiful country setting beside a church and graveyard. The restaurant was beautiful. The whole building had the feel of a country house. Food orders were taken in the living room. You were escorted to the restaurant as the food was ready. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal was gorgeous. At €56 a head for 5 courses, it was a bit steep, but when you taste the food, you realise that it is out of this world. I had a chicken and lobster caesar salad for starts, followed by vegetable soup and then rib eye Angus steak with bearnaise sauce. I had ice cream and sorbet medley for dessert. Helpings were substantial. The nicest thing I ate was the chicken and lobster caesar salad. Delicious. My wife had goats cheese, soup and a chicken dish for her main course. She had an apple pie for dessert, which she said was the highlight of the meal. All in all a lovely experience from start to finish, and one we are keen to repeat again. Lovely for a special occasion. We'll be back

Amazing! One of the best meals I ever had. It was €32 for the 3 courses and worth every penny. For starters I had the duck won tongs, the pork belly for mains and meringue for dessert. All were delicious! The bread on the table was a nice touch to start the meal. The location was beautiful and the service was excellent!

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in in a long time. I ate with friends on a Saturday night and we all raved about it. The staff were really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was of excellent quality. We chose from the €56 5 course dinner menu which has lots of choice to suit all tastes, including specials of the day. We had a variety from beef to fish to salad and all were delicious. For the quality of the food this menu is excellent value. The restaurant has a good wine menu and a nice bar in the conservatory for pre or post dinner drinks. All in all in terms of food quality, service and value I could not fault this place.

wonderful simply a great restaurant with competent cooking and superb service. Far too many restaurants are charging cheep prices and using cheep ingredients, here you get what you pay for. Great ingredients, service and good solid atmosphere.

Table for two at short notice on Sat - sign of the times?? Well received and we opted for aperitifs in the front lounge & ordered there. We went for the set meal at €56 each - pricey enough for what we got. My starter was the special of the night - scallops. Would have liked more than 2 scallops and less of the puree. Partner had prawn duo which were delicious. A rocket leave salad and sorbet was served before mains.I had John Dory (the special) and it was a little tough, tasteless and dry. Partner really enjoyed her monkfish. Desserts were tasty and not too big!! Followed by lovely coffee. All washed down with an excellent Paulliac well worth €48. Nice old world atmosphere and solid service throughout. Enjoyable, but at €169 (excluding SC) I wont be rushing back.

Myself and my partner ate here a while back and had an amazing experience. The restaurant had been recommended to me by a friend who hadn't gone into a huge amount of detail about the restaurant but we decided to try it out.
From the moment we arrived we were smiling! The staff were wonderfully helpful, the decor is trad-Irish but not too touristy! The atmosphere wasn't fantastic, but we were the only two people there on arrival so that had a part to play with it. We were given a complementary amuse-bouche on arrival and the chef prepared a dish for us which had been on the old menu, but was not on the new one which had just been prepared that week. Each course (I think we had 7 altogether!) was better than the one before which was something we didnt think would be possible. I'd highly recommend it for a special night out and for group parties.

this is not cheap but it is such a special night out, we went for our christmas dinner and it was quite a reasonable price compared to going at other times. we even got a free little entree which was lovely. the place itself is divided into different rooms and the log fires make it all very cosy, i had the rabbit main course despite my pet rabbit being killed the week before...the rabbit was lovely, its the perfect place for that special evening out but i couldnt afford to go every week

I booked dinner here for my family for a special occasion and I have to say it was perfect. We got a room with one other table, both with big families. There was a big open fire in the room, the food was delicious, even my 1 year old nephew had a ball! The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly. It was a lovely Sunday dinner.

Could not fault anything about this wonderful restaurant. The food is devine and there is a great choice of unusual dishes. The atmosphere is beautiful (the restaurant is split in to different rooms) and the service is excellent. It is a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion and is suprisingly good value for the standard of food. In fact my only fault is that there is a huge amount of food served and it's all so delicious it's very hard to leave any behind - so go hungry!
