The transition from pub grub lounge to what is now The Weir last September is a welcome one. It is incorporated in to what was the Ashford House pub and the bar is still there to have a few drinks, but the ambience created with the new decor makes for a pleasurable night out for couples or family group meals. We had just a main course each of homemade burger with fries and side salad, and from the blackboard, the special of hake with chorizo sausage on a bed of small baby roasted potatoes. Both dishes were superb along with an Australian Grant Bruge shiraz at just €23. The shared chocolate cake and ice-cream dessert plus coffees for two brought our total to €70, which might be a bit more than you would like to spend, but its very much value for money. Service and attention from staff just excellent too.

Good deal from a menupages.ie site. The Restaurant is beside Ashford House. Big room with cosy booths and a lovely fire. Lots of options on the Menu - roasts, stews and pizza. I personally find that 3 courses is to much and it would be lovely if deals were offered with just main course and coffee but it is great value and is always busy which gives it a good buzz. Enjoy

Made my return for pizza's and dessert. Pizza's where only ok this visit. Chocolate biscuit cake was define. A must have.
