Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 5.0 star review: We ate here as part of a package for the weekend. There were a lot of dishes that charged a supplement which was disapopointing, however the food we had was really good. The service was also very good. The views from the dining room are fantastic.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 2.0 star review: Myself and my partner went here after seeing such wonderful reviews on this site. Wow! it looks amazing!
But we must have been EXTREMELY unlucky the time we came, as nothing about it was as we had heard.
On arrival we were greeted with an attitude at the fact that we did not have a reservation, or were hotel guests. Strange as there was only 4 table occupied..........
We were showed to our table, which was lovely, and given the menu. A FAR cry from the one advertised on this site. Much less choice, and most options having a supplement to the E30.00pp price tag.
We had soup to start, which tasted nice but was served in one of those tiny canteen style bowls. Not attractive at all.
I had Garlic & Herb encrusted chicken with potato gnocchi. I have to say the chicken fillet was cooked to perfection, lovely and moist. But there was no taste of garlic or herb, so extremely plain. The potato gnocchi resembled a hash brown...weird. I also ordered a side of chips. They tasted exactly the same as ones you would get from a Chinese takeaway, greasy to the core, and cost E5.00!!!! DISGRACEFUL!!!!
My partner had the lamb with gravy and garlic mash. The lamb was tough, and there was not a hint of garlic in the mash. The gravy though, AMAZING!
Of the 5 deserts offered, we struggled to see anything nice, so my partner had nothing, and I the pavlova. The meringue resembled chewing gum in my mouth, and it was so hard to break a piece off, lots of meringue went flying around the place. Nice.
The wine we chose, lovely, and the highlight of our experience, but we certainly will not be back.
Maybe you need to go on a fri or sat, when they are busier and are not just open because they have to be.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 5.0 star review: Wonderful views over the valley below were a bonus for our lunchtime meal. The salmon with salsa and pesto was delicious as was the roast Wicklow lamb. We finished off with beautifully presented apple crumble and a chocolate and caramel cake; both of which were excellent. Service could not be faulted - a great venue if you want to treat yourself midweek.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 4.0 star review: Have only ever had coffee and scones or soup at lunch time in this hotel. Staying overnight gave us the opportunity to dine in the Woodland Restaurant, which was surprisingly busy for a Friday evening. The meal was excellent, and cooked to perfection. Service was a bit over-enthusiastic as we had a stream of different waiters asking if we’d decided on our meal. It’s just a small observation, but one which is worth mentioning as diners really do need a bit of time to look through the menu and decide what they are having. I had Turkey Meatballs to start, Sea Bass for mains and a scrumptious Baileys Cheesecake for dessert. I couldn’t fault the meal in any way, it was super from beginning to end.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 5.0 star review: Had an absolutely delicious meal in the Woodland Restaurant on Friday night. The Table D’Hote menu is €30 per person, fantastic value. There was no shortage of fresh, warm brown or white bread rolls available, and we weren’t even having soup! I had a mouthwatering seafood starter, followed by shank of Wicklow lamb, which came served with a dish of freshly cooked vegetables. A dessert of Strawberry Mess brought a light, sweet end to a wonderful meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant, whether it be for a daytime lunch or evening meal. Surroundings are just lovely.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 5.0 star review: We had a beautiful meal here for Sunday lunch celebrating my mother's birthday. It was a first visit for all of us at the table and we were so impressed with service, food and general ambience that we are returning this weekend (16th Oct). The view of Wicklow from the restaurant windows is breathtaking and adds to the overall experience of this lovely restaurant. We were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff from the beginning to the end of our visit. Highly recommended

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 5.0 star review: I visit the restaurant every so often and every time I can try something else because they always change menu which is very good. Food is really tasty and prepared with attention to detail. Staff is really helpful and friendly so it makes the experience easier. The only minus for me is lack of air contitioning which is a problem when the restaurant is really busy. I have had great time every time I visited and I wish to come back soon for one more great meal.

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel 4.0 star review: My partner and I went here for St Valentines and availed of the special St Valentines Menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant was poor, as there were only 4 other couples there. The food was impeccably prepared and so so tasty. Service was tremendous. They went to great pains when there was nothing on the starter menu that I liked and they made up a really nice prawn starter for me. The main course of steak was superb as was the dessert. Included in the meal was a glass of rose sparkling wine. The crunch came with the cost as it was expensive for what it was, in light of the fact that its a recession and there is a lot of good value out there at the moment.
