This is a very pleasant place to spend a few hours, wandering in the park. After which you can get a great meal in the restaurant. Have been many times and am looking forward to going again soon.

4.0 Fulacht Fiadh Restaurant 4.0 star review:
Had lunch here for the first time the week before Christmas & was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was festive & warm, the place was nicely full without being packed & service was friendly. We had a light lunch consisting of chowder / soup & light salad mains accompanied by some wine & finished with lattes. For this, it certainly served it's purpose. I'm not sure how it would fare for a heartier meal but the food I saw on other diner's plates certainly looked and smelled appealing. Not a place for cosy ambiance, as it resembles a canteen style, with self service, big long tables and open plan but nonetheless, it was a pleasant lunch and I would certainly go back.

Had Sunday lunch after walking around the park, good choice of dishes even thought it was late when we dined, the sauce on the salmon was delicious and a plus for the toasted scattered on the veg, generous portions and big jugs of water that you could help yourself to without having to ask for a top up all the time. Clean and warm with things for children to colour and children friendly staff. I'll be back.

3.5 Fulacht Fiadh Restaurant 3.5 star review:
I was surprised to see so many people coming in just to eat and not visit the park - definitely a good sign. It is hard to rate the service in a self service restaurant but they did clean the tables promptly when vacated. There was a nice selection of food. The stew looked delicious, although I didn't have it. There was plenty of space and nicely decorated. It is definitely a classier cafe. The coffee let it down though. It was served far too hot and didn't taste the best, although freshly brewed for each cup.

I eat here 2-3 times a month and it's generally very good. Main courses are varied and served with plenty of fresh local vegetables but sometimes cubes of swede & carrot could be dressed up a little bit!
The open brown bread sandwich is excellent - the bread is superb, and the soups and salads are gorgeous.
It's very reasonably priced but a big favourite with school & coach parties so is jammed in the summer
