The Oakleaf Restaurant 4.5 star review: This is one of my favourite places to eat in the midlands. It is friendly and welcoming. The value is amazing, the service is great, and the food is very good. It is easy to forget that this restaurant exists in a small town but having eaten here several times in the past year, I am happy it is off the beaten track and always look forward to my evening there.

The Oakleaf Restaurant 1.0 star review: I was on my way home from Galway with a friend and we were starving so popped into here for the carvery. I would rather have starved than eaten in here, the food was awful, dried out, and tasteless. And to top that off, it was €17.70 for a plate of carvery and one glass of fizzy orange, an absolute rip off! I think the carvery alone is €15.95. . .ludacris in a small midland town, i've never paid that much for a carvery anywhere in Dublin! As i said, we had the carvery, so I don't know what the a la carte menu is like, but I certainly wouldn't call back here to find out! Also the decor is extremely dated and, like the food, tasteless. The only upside is that the staff were friendly! The worst €17.70 I've ever spent!
