My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Having been here before, we decided it would be a lovely setting for dinner for this special occasion and we weren't disappointed. I had a risotto starter while he ate pate. Both were fantastic and we really enjoyed them. The lure of steak was too much to resist so it's what we both had, accompanied by a lovely selection of veg and potatoes. A lovely bottle of red complemented everything really well and a nice creme brulee dessert was sublime. The really lovely part is being able to retire to the cosy bar afterwards for brandy and baileys beside the fire. A lovely experience and I look forward to our next visit - we've already given vouchers to two other couples!

Dined here found the food to be tasty and well presented. Staff were excellent. With regards to consistency between courses found the fish starter excellent, mains chicken was disappointing, sides more than made up for the poor chicken. Cheese board was excellent along with great wines,

I'd say the most beatiful restaurant setting in the whole country, at least that I have been to, on the shores of Lough Ree, timber decking, picture windows, ducks at our feet on the way in waddling around, boats passing in the drawing dusk. Food is good, not exceptional, I had a spiced lamb with pomegranate couscous to start, then 4 large grilled prawns with tomatoes, rocket, chorizo (kind of Mozambique style), nice baby spuds that had been sauteed off in butter after boiling. Herself had mussels in white wine and cream, and then seabass, portion a little small on the fish but nicely cooked. A nice zingy SB (Hunky Dory Marlborough, NZ) and coffees, all in E110. Nice, attentive and pleasant service, and the main dining room was nice (we ate outside). Excellent coffee. You could spend many happy hours here eating anything at all.
