Charles Brinsley Restaurant @ Bloomfield House Hotel 5.0 star review: Dined here for three nights although only one night was included in our package. Each night we were able to choose something different as the choice was so varied in each course. The food was excellent and served promptly with just the right time left between courses. Soup was served lovely and hot. Had salmon two evenings and turkey and ham another. These were delicious and portions were generous.Deserts were just lovely. The staff were friendly and had time to have a chat with diners if they wished. When checking out of the hotel, I remarked to the receptionist that we had been undercharged for the extra dinners as they were down as 20Euro. She said that the dinner was 25Euro but staying guests only paid 20Euro. This was excellent value for meals which were very enjoyable. Would recommend and will be back.

Charles Brinsley Restaurant @ Bloomfield House Hotel 3.0 star review: Dined here while staying at Bloomfield hotel. We decided to make a last minute reservation and were accomodated near last orders. The room was lovely and bright, but this highlighted some areas which needed a good sweeping. I don't like seeing tables in restaurants with dirty plates and cutlery still in place from previous diners. The food was ok, I had red pepper soup to start, braised chicken with veg and passion fruit cheese cake, my partner had veg soup, steak with veg and a chocolate dome. My main of braised chicken was quite bland and salty and the veg was a little weary and grey looking as was my partners. Everything was edible, but it wasn't amazing and friendly as the staff were I couldn't help but get the feeling they wanted to just clear up and go home. All in all everything was fine, but not what I was expecting of a luxury hotel experience.

Charles Brinsley Restaurant @ Bloomfield House Hotel 4.5 star review: Not quite the Brinsley restaurant, but we have eaten a number of times in the carvery in the Hotel bar beside it.
This is a good quality carvery, serving the usual range of dishes. Roast beef seems to be the favourite, and the quality and flavour is very good. Members of our party have had salmon, roast ham, quiche and salad on occasion; quality and flavour has always been very satisfactory. Generous portions, very friendly and helpful staff, traditional good wholesome carvery food, plus very good value for money make this a satisfying dining experience.

Charles Brinsley Restaurant @ Bloomfield House Hotel 4.5 star review: I was very impressed with the food here especially for the price only 25 euo for a 3 course meal.
I had sweet chilli prawns and a melt in the mouth steak. The portion were very big also.
The only downside is the lighting was very bright which takes away from the atmosphere.

Charles Brinsley Restaurant @ Bloomfield House Hotel 4.0 star review: I ate in this restaurant, while staying in the Bloomfield House Hotel for a few days. The Meal was part of our accomdation deal, so we ate from the residents menu. There was a decent range to choose from and we all found something to our liking. Food was really tasty, with decent sized portions and loads of really fresh veg served on the side. Desserts were nice and tasty. The staff were very friendly and understanding as I think we were the last eating in the restaurant at the time but they never made us feel rushed or hurried. I can't comment on price, as it was built into our accomdation but if I was down in Mulingar again I would happily eat there.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
