Becketts Bar and Restaurant 3.0 star review: Not so impressed. Went 3 times and each time, food was very greasy, sometimes soaking in oil. Some nice littary quotes written on the walls, didn't make up for the lacking food however.

Becketts Bar and Restaurant 5.0 star review: what a fantastic restaurant. a bit dark looking from the outside and my only negative about the inside is i would like to see the lights a bit brighter, a busy restaurant and a great selection of food on the menu and resonable priced.i had roast pork noodle salad for starter and it was delicious has steak for mains with lovely chunky chips lovely pan-fried mushrooms and a side of mild pepper sauce, there was 3 vegatarians in the party all of which has 3 differant vegatarians options that were on the menu for stater and mains, the creamy mushroom starter was divine. desserts all homemade the filling in the choc roulade was a bit heavy but overall an excellant meal was had by all well worth a visit, also advisable to book in advance well done all concerned.

Becketts Bar and Restaurant 1.0 star review: During a recent visit to waterford I dined at Beckett’s with five friends. The staff were courteous and very attentive. Unfortunately the meal was not of the same standard.
I ordered the Gratin of Spiced Aubergines with crushed potatoes, spinach and goats cheese
And what I received had no resemblance to what the menu offered the dish had no Aubergines, no spinach and no goat’s cheese....
The dish was returned and in reply the staff apologised for replacing the spinach with brown lettuces that they had run out of spinach and offered to replace it with something else.
On the plus side, out of the six people dining I was the only one disappointed.

Becketts Bar and Restaurant 4.0 star review: I ate here last Sunday with my parents and found the overall experience to be very good. The bar menu is quite extensive with a good range of options to suit everyone and there was also a list of daily specials. I opted for the Thai red chicken curry which was very tasty. The parents opted for the Chicken Supreme and Loin of Bacon from the daily specials, both of which were well presented and served with veg and potato. Becketts also seems to be very family-friendly and there was a lot of families with children in there. Overall, a good experience and good value - I would return.

Becketts Bar and Restaurant 5.0 star review: I love Becketts and frequent the restuarant often with my family, the kids are offered great food, no junk like nuggets and chips. My favourite dish is the Lemon Chicken and Chicken Salad and many many more of the dishes are too die for. I completely disagree with the above comment about packet mash, clearly you never spent your time at Varsity having to eat smash, you can taste that real potatoes are used and the mash is so smooth, that is one of my favourites when I have one of the roast dinners almost always on special during the day. The desserts are to die for and a lot of them like the Chocolate Torte are homemade none of these bought in fake tasting stuff.The pictures need to be updated though as it is an old picture up on your website and the place looks far more classy and inviting with the new decor. A pleasure to visit Becketts and a great place to dine for business meeting or with friends and family. Keep up the good work Becketts!!!!!
