5.0 Seahorse Tavern 5.0 star review:
Lovely restaurant/ pub. Staff are really personable and attentive. Food is great, and not expensive. FIsh is to die for and even the chips are the nicest I've ever had. I actually ordered the chicken and bacon salad but ended up eating most of my boyfriend's chips, so we ordered an extra portion. He ordered the fish and it was really lovely. Atmosphere is very relaxed, and inviting. Will definitely return.

4.0 Seahorse Tavern 4.0 star review:
I visited for lunch with my two daughters, aged 16 and 12. The older had a seafood chowder while the younger (and hungrier) had the spaghetti bolognese, while I had the Toasted Seahorse Specal. Service was pleasant, prompt and efficient. We all enjoyed the food but the girls professed themselves a little underwhelmed with their Chocolate Milkshakes. With my pot of tea, lunch came to €36 for the three of us - pricey, but a nice treat. All in all, we enjoyed the ambience and the buzz of this nicely appointed pub and restaurant.

My boyfriend decided to bring me for an evening meal, and after hearing great things from some close friends, we decided to try the Seahorse instead of some of our usual dining spots in Tramore. My memory of the Seahorse from yesteryear was that of an old local pub, so I was still a little bit apprehensive about what it would be like now. We were absolutely blown away by the stylish decor and the cosy atmosphere. Whoever redecorated did a great job. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and sat us almost immediately despite how busy it was. We had our drinks order within minutes. I thought the menu was an ecclectic mix which worked well. I find that some places focus too much on seafood when they're based in a seaside resort so it was nice to see everyone was catered for. There were several things I would have happily ordered so deciding was the hardest thing. I had the chicken liver parfait to start, which was delicious and full of flavour and the salmon with seasonal veg as my main. The fish was cooked to perfection, delicate and fresh-just top class. It was obvious they had sourced great produce. My boyfriend had the smoked haddock starter, which he devoured, and the burger as a main which comes with the nicest tomato relish ever! We shared an apple crumble which I would highly recommend as I ate most of it:). It was just a great, relaxed, fun evening out, and the staff couldn't do any more for us than they did. I came online to search for their contact number to book ahead for this weekend, even for the early-bird if we can make it out there in time after work.

The Seahorse was recently re-opened under new management, trie it out last nite but was v.dissappointed. Described as a gastro pub the menu did not live up to this description, nothing exciting for starters or mains. Restaurant wasn't overly busy but staff seemed rushed and didn't feel v.welcome. Drinks were served before starters which arrived promptly but it went downhill from there. There was no bread offered, similarly no water brought to the table or second drinks offered. Management were present but didn't seem to interact with customers unless they were a personal friend.Ordered Tuna Nicoise for my main to try something different but was not quite confident in its execution as when I tried to cut into it discovered it still had skin and bone present - bit of a turnoff. Not sure if this is normal have had Tuna before but has always been skinned and boned. Took 20mins to serve coffees as problem with coffee machine but again manager did not acknowledge any dissatification. Managers only interaction was to serve us with the bill and to tell us that we had had a nice meal - thanks but it wasn't great!

I love this place! I can try new things and have a total foodie experience, while my husband gets to eat food just like mammy made. Everything tastes so fresh, the portions are generous and this is THE only place where I can get a healthy real kids dinner . This is the perfect family resturant, the perfect date night place, and the perfect grab a quick bite bar!

Been here on numerous occasions it really is hit and miss.
The food can be good but can also be bad and cold.
I don't know whether its down to different chefs on duty or what but its like somebody doesn't put their everything into the food they serve out.
They aren't cheap either.
The restaurant could do with a make over especially the toilets they stink and could be looked after a lot better.
