I visited this restaurant on a Friday night for the eight course tasting menu. The venue, which is also a guest house, is fabulous. Very tastefully and ornately decorated. We were offered drinks by the friendly staff in the reception room, which included a welcoming open fire, after which we were guided into the dining room to commence the meal. As the staff bring out each delicious course on the gourmet, they explain exactly what it is. Among the courses there was a sushi rice and crab dish, a smoked duck salad, smoked salmon with mozzarella and tomoto popover, apple sorbet, steak, and chocolate cake. I enjoyed the meal which last approximately 2.5 hours thoroughly, and was exhausted after it. This experience is a special occasion, that everyone should try once.

I had one of my best meals ever here last Friday-and that includes Michelin-starred meals. The €65 euro tasting menu is absolutely fantastic value as the quality of food is simply stunning. The eight courses (excluding coffee) that make up this meal are all excellent, and a couple on the menu I had last Friday are close to perfection. In our case the first was a dish of slow roast pork belly, candied pecans, cashel blue and dressed leaves. Sounds quite simple but the flavours worked together like nothing I can explain. This was the best individual dish I've had in I don't know how long. The other stand-out was beef fillet with a ricotta potato corquette, glazed shallot and an intense jus. The philosophy of cooking here isn't overly cheffy or show off. Each dish is executed with a sort of effortless elegance. Service is seamless, helped by the fact that everyone is having the same dishes. Minor things: the beef dish was too large, it was almost the size of a normal main course even though we had 5 corses before it! Secondly the second dessert course was too much neither of us could touch it- cheese would have been lovely. But let me say again how superb this restaurant is, if you get the chance to go, please do. You won't regret it.

My wife and I stayed here last weekend and ate in the restaurant on Saturday. We had the chefs 8 course menu for 65euro. What can I say except that this was one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had. Particular highlights were the beef filet and slow roast pork. The wine list covered all the bases. The staff were extremely efficient and attentive. The chef is top class and should take a bow
