Set amid the verdant Knockmealdown and Galtee mountains in the picturesque Vee Valley, this wonderful restaurant could not be in a more idyllic place. Despite the luscious country location, we are just 8 miles from exit 10 on the M8 motorway at Cahir. This makes it ultra convenient and, most importantly, the food must be experienced to be believed.

3.0 The Hermitage House 3.0 star review:
The staff in this restaurant were extremely friendly and pleasant, but the atmosphere was lacking in warmth.
My partner had smoked salmon to start, which he polished off satisfactorily, while I had fishcake, which looked like it came from the freezer of a supermarket. It was slightly greasy, and tasted fine.
For mains, my partner had a sliced duck breast, with mashed potatoes and veg. He really enjoyed the meal and thought it was delicious.
I had a smoked chicken salad for mains, which was just ok. The salad part for great, but the chicken also seemed processed, and bought cooked, directly from a shop shelf.
