I've eaten in the Corraig a few times down through the years, and I've taken my family there on occasions. We've always had either steak or lamb - it's where we go for steak or lamb .... and it's where we'll continue to go. I've eaten in places all over Ireland - some good, some bad, some great and some outstanding - I place the Corraig at 'great'. Friendly staff that will look after you - great food cooked fresh and however you've ordered it. I've never had the Sunday Carvery but I've heard good things about it. All in - I've given it 3 1/2 stars - because I'll always hold out when it comes to cost. As a country we pay too much to eat out ... so I think this will be a continuous 'gripe' with me. If you're in the area and looking for steak - I'd like to hear if you find better :-)

Visited here wit a group from work. The Carraig have a great wine and dine menu with 3 course meal and bottle of wine per couple for €60total. The menu selection has something for everyone and the a la carte and bar menus have plenty choice on them also. Their steaks are renouned! There is also some special offers on during the week which makes the food great value. The restaurant itself lacks atmosphere in my opinion and could do with a more modern decor. Service is usually good but on a few occasions when very busy they can seem understaffed. Quality and taste of food though in my opinion outweighs the other tiny complaints.

I enjoyed the meal I had here. The food was the type you'd expect in a country hotel; good, honest, tasty fare. The service was good and the atmosphere excellent. However, vegetables are considered a side order and some of my party were quite perturbed by this - especially as this wasn't pointed out by the waitress when ordering. I recommend the Chicken Maryland - a retro classic done perfectly!
