Really disappointed with here. I visited with friends and was hounded by the staff and made to feel like there was something wrong with me cos I'd left part of my starter. I felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed. The food is not as nice in my opinion as the other Indian restaurant in town and you're heaped up on top of one another in the restaurant.
This evening I tried to order some food and was told it would be €15 for delivery as a minimum order. This based on their prices is ridiculous if you're ordering for one and so I gave up on it.

After reading how positive the other comments on here were I decided to choose Stars of India over the other Indian restaurant in Thurles. I definitely am pleased with my choice.
The restaurant itself is really modern and nice inside, the staff themselves are really friendly and polite and nice, and the food was great.
I literally cannot find any fault with this place so I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it to anybody!

My partner and I decide to eat here as the comments on Menupages were good. We went in at about 5 and we were the only people there, not surprising. The decor was very nice and the music was like modern Indian which was pleasant. We were given both the early bird menu (great value) and the regular menu. As we weren't overly hungry we decided to just have the main. The poppadum’s (3) and dips that were provided were very tasty and when we finished we were offered more which was nice. I ordered the Chicken Achar as I had never had it before it was ok a slight bit bitter for me. The rice and naan (garlic & coriander) was very good. When the mains came the waiter said we were more than welcome to more rice which again was nice. When we finished we got heated wipes for our hands as you do with some Indian restaurants, I find this a nice touch. The waiter was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I would visit here again however I would get a dish that I was familiar with for comparison reasons.

The staff in this restaurant are very accommodating towards giving the customer what they want.
They also are very good in explaining any dishes that you wouldnt have much knowledge in or have
never ate before. If you want to have a particular dish but dont want a particular ingredient, they
can accommodate to your taste. For my starters, I ordered the King Prawn Bhuna. As starters go, this
was a big one, and very tasty, not too spicy. Then for mains I ordered the Chicken Jhalfrezi.Very tasty
with a hint coriander and lots of chillies in it, which I like, but again if something that's hot is
not for you, they can leave out alot of the chillies. The atmosphere, lighting, music, were all lovely.
Well recommended as a place to go for food, and reasonably priced too.

Overall a really good experience. Good food, good portion size and friendly staff. I will definitely come back here again. The only complaint I would have is the music was a bit off - more indian music and less Britney would have created a better atmosphere
