Lily Mai's on Saturday 5th March did not disappoint! We were greated by the propriator at 20.30 and shown to our table. There is no pre booking for tables unless there are 10plus in your party. The menu was really good. We both chose the Thai fish cakes, dilicious, served with salad, cucumber compote and really good home made brown and white bread. Other choices included pate and goats cheese. The mains that we chose were chicken breast stuffed with mushroom and nut and homemade cod goujons. Both were really fantastic. Portion sizes are very big, so sadly we had no space for dessert. But we did manage two really good lattes! Atmosphere really lovely, this old renovated village cottage has such character, and is decorated so tastefuly by the propriator herself. Service was excellent. Facilities, as always, were impecable. A really excellent experience. No hesitation in recommending Lily Mai's highly, and then of course, the neighbouring pub is a must to finish off the night well!

Fifteen of us had a most enjoyable culinary experience in this restaurant on Friday night. We all thought that the food was very tasty, generous and reasonably priced. I loved the fish cake and steak sandwich and also managed to taste coronation chicken and pork belly - all delicious. The young smiling waitresses were most efficient and pleasant. Soup was very wholesome as was the home-made brown bread. I would have liked a better choice in the desserts. The brown bread ice cream was lovely but very easily chosen! Overall I would rate Lily Mai's very positively and I commend them for serving generous portions of good food at very reasonable prices.
