This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. There is lots of space for parking outside and the location is great if you're on a long country drive. The atmosphere is cosy and homely but with a classy edge! Wine list is good, we ordered a Rioja Boarte 2007 which I would recommend to everyone. Their seafood is what they are renound for. I had the seafood pasta which was amazing. Their was plenty of seafood in the dish and the white wine sauce it was made with was perfect. My partner had the catch of the day with chips which he said was devine. They brought over warm breads while we were waiting which was very good as we were starving!

I was treated to dinner out for my birthday and was taken to The Fairways Bar for a maincourse & dessert. On arrival there was ample parking outside & the establishment was well presented with a lovely welcoming glow & charm to the place. You could see into the Orchard Restaurant from outside & it looked nicely busy [always a good sign]. On arrival into the bar we were greeted & seated in the snug [we had opted for barfood option rather than the dining room] the snug was lovely, cosy & had three good sized four seater tables. The atmosphere was a little lacking though as there were candles on the table that were burnt out & even though we were not seated in the bar I felt it was a little bit of a halfway land - not enough bar atmosphere to be part of the bar but too much bright light & no music to be in a restaurant. The server was very pleasant & the menu was fantastic. There was a great choice of selection & the prices were very reasonable. The bread basket was amazing with different types, a scone and some crostini with what appeared to be warmed bolognase & cheese on top [that said we were given no butter & by the time we saw the server again we had polished off the lot as they were too tempting to leave & wait] The food arrived in good time & was nothing short of fabulous. My boyfriend had the TBone which was cooked to perfection [medium] & came with a fantasticly large portion of chunky chips. I had the duck which was amazing, the sauce was light but packed full of flavour & the veg and potato [garlic cream cheese potatoes!] portion was well varied & very tastey. Needless to say the plates were cleaned when they were collected. Then onto dessert. Which I would reccommend to anyone who goes there, they were homemade, well portioned and nothing short of outstanding. The tiramisu was moist and indulgent while the fresh pavlova with strawberries and cream was to die for. To top it off the coffee was great quality. We'll definetly be going back! A++++
