Douglas Hyde Restaurant @ Kilronan Castle 3.5 star review: My review here is mixed as we were staying in the hotel and had 2 evening meals one was wonderful and one was mediocre. The first night there was no wedding in the hotel and the food was delicious and well served. The second night there was a wedding and the quality of the food served was not great, particularly as we expected the standard of the previous night. We asked for mash (it was delicious) not boiled potatoes, but out came the boiled. It took 2 waiters before we managed to get a scrap of cool mash. There are a lot of people (not waiting staff) who float around checking all is well, but if you comment they just smile falsely and move on. Certainly love the hotel, so I'd say chance the restaurant if you like a risk!
