Dad's Top Pasties
Servings:Makes 10 to 12
Ingredients
- 5 sheets of puff pastry
- 1 large potato, peeled & grated
- 1 brown onion
- 1 medium turnip
- 1 large carrot
- 1 swede
- 1 small sweet potato
- 2 tbs. crushed garlic
- 1 ginger
- 1 sweet chilli sauce
- 600g gravy beef minced
- 1/2 cup beef stock
- pepper & salt to taste
- 2 egg yokes beaten
Method
- Microwave meat,garlic,onion &ginger& beef stock, for 4 to 5 mins.
- Mix all other ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add the cooked meat, combine well, add salt & pepper to taste.
- Preheat oven to 180c.
- Lay out the puff pastry, cut into 4 parts.
- Add a suitable amount of strained meat mixture to each section, wet edges lay another layer of pastry on top, press all edges & then coat top & sides with egg yoke.
- Place all the pies on a flat tray into the oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Turn down the heat to 150c for another 15 minutes.
- Enjoy with your favourite sauce, hot or cold.
