Brown Bread Ice Cream

This is a great way to pep up cheap vanilla ice cream. Crumbled honeycomb or chopped nuts and chocolate would be delicious too.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/ gas mark 4 and line and grease a bakingsheet.
  2. Put the brown bread into a food processor and blend to coarsecrumbs. Evenly spread the breadcrumbs on the baking sheet andsprinkle with the brown sugar. Bake until caramelised, turningoccasionally.
  3. Leave to cool, mix into the ice cream and freeze until ready to serve.
