Ingredients
- 90g plain flour?
- 150g icing sugar?
- 20g cocoa powder?
- 150g dark chocolate minimum 70% proof?
- 90g butter melted?
- 2 tbsp golden syrup?
- 2 eggs
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Grease a 25cm/10in square baking tin.
- 1. Stir the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
- 2. Melt the chocolate carefully in a bain-marie or in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water.
- 3. Add the butter and the golden syrup and stir until blended. Leave to cool to a little, then stir in the eggs.
- 4. Fold in the dry ingredients and stir rather quickly until smooth.
- 5. Pour the mixture into the tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes. The top and edges will be crusty. The inside will be slightly gooey but not runny.
- 6. Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the tin.
