Fontana Italian Restaurant, Dunshaughlin

Welcome to Fontana, Italian Restaurant Dunshaughlin, Meath; a new concept in the heart of Dunshaughlin that provides authentic, traditional Italian foods and dishes to eat in or take away. The Fontana family has been involved in food and catering for many years and this venture opens a new chapter in our efforts to share the wonders of Italian food across Meath and specifically to residents of Dunshaughlin, Ratoath, Ashbourne and Dunboyne. The Fontana family comes from a small village in the mid west of Italy, roughly half-way between Rome and Naples. Food is a very important aspect of family life across Italy, but as you travel further south you'll find dishes that are homelier and earthier in nature and it is these delicious, filling and honest Italian dishes that we want our patrons to enjoy.

I have eaten here a few times in the last 6 months. The service is good, food very good but the atmosphere is not great. It is seldom full which is a pity because the food is really nice. Some good value to be had too.

I had lunch here ad I was a little underwhelmed considering the prices being charged. I had chicken salad which was a cold, tasteless chicken breast on a plate of lettuce charged at €9.95. I counted 2 black olives and had anchovies (which I asked to be removed when ordering) on top. My wife had a chicken caesar wrap but there was no side salad or garnish with it. I really wanted to like the place because the decor is nice and the place is very well kept but the most important thing was the food. We pad over €25 for a very ordinary lunch and I felt I'd have been much better off having a sandwich from the local deli. Just not value for money- Sorry.

I like this cafe - it is very welcoming, some times more than others but that depends which staff member is working. Breakfast is good - all food is made to order - would like larger coffee cups as portion size is small but coffee is good. Could do with a more extensive dessert menu but a good option if your looking for somewhere to eat in Dunshaughlin......
