This was one of the most awful meals I've had in the last couple of years including our company canteen. Fish and chips - you could get better at any cheap chipper. Barely any fish and what was there was swimming in oil so much it was almost inedible. A few chunks of chips didn't really make up for it and the salad was covered in a very stinky dressing. They serve kids meals for free but I'd rather pay for a decent meal than getting a bowl of overcooked penne that is falling apart when you try to put it on a fork tossed in a heated can of tinned tomatoes with no seasoning whatsoever. I wouldn't serve that to a six month old with no teeth, even they deserve better than a completely bland food devoid of any flavour. As for the service, while the premises look nice, there were no napkins on our table and the salt shaker was empty. We were not even brought any paper napkins with the cutlery. We left hungry, me with a stomach pain from the oily fish. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was the one of a place that has given up. My daughter was hungry so I didn't bother with any feedback on the spot, I wanted to leave as soon as possible to give her some food, from what I could see I doubt it would have made any sense anyway. I wonder how long this place will last as it wasn't exactly packed and this was at one o'clock with people just leaving church and it's confirmation time. I'm giving one star for the service because we were served but that's it.

We booked a table for a 2pm lunch and when we arrived we were the only other diners! The waiter assured us that we had just missed the busy lunch period. We started with an order of garlic mushrooms and a couple of orders of calamari. Both were delicious and while the calamari looked at first to be on the small side they were in a lovely chunk batter and came with a salad so overall it was quiet filling. Main courses of steak sandwich, fish and chips and roast of the day arrived very quickly along with an extra order of chips. All the portions were extremely generous, the fish appeared to be a double portion and all I can say is that the cat seemed to enjoy me leftovers when I got home as much as I did! We finished the meal with two desserts, ice cream and an order of apple pie which also came with ice cream, a glass of wine and some teas and coffees. I was a very decadent lunch as we managed to explore the beer garden a little before going home for a snooze. The only down side was the waiter, she was lovely but just a bit too friendly, we got a whole family history, but then again it is a small country restaurant so perhaps it's to be expected? Will be back, hopefully to try the evening menu, will have to starve ourselves before hand though!

We booked a table for approx 16 two weeks in advance. when we arrived we were only presented a christmas menu even though we had booked an a la carte menu. This was the start of a totally unsatisfactory meal. We contacted the restaurant the following day via email to discuss our experience.. But no one has bothered to reply!!! Two wrong meals were brought out resulting in one person having to wait 20 mins after others were served and one other person eating what they hadn't ordered We were only asked if we would like a drink once even though we had to wait an hour for our food to arrive We then had to chase after a waitress for desert menu no offer of tea or coffee The meet and greet was non existent, the service was awful, the place was cold and the singer was far too loud for a conversation. We were overcharged and under served!!
