Modern and spacious, this smart and very popular restaurant beside Trim Castle has well-trained staff who greet and seat arriving guests promptly and - by ensuring that everyone settles in comfortably from the start - setting a tone of relaxed efficiency that makes for an enjoyable outing. Space is attractively broken up around a central carpeted square with leather sofas to provide a variety of seating areas and simple, uncluttered table settings are modern and elegantly functional - tall water carafes, finger bowls for nachos and paper napkins. Visited this place and was absolutely blown away. The place was buzzing to start but the staff seemed well able to deal with the rush and so our welcome etc... didn't suffer. To start I had the homemade tortilla chips which were absoutely amazing and really reccomend everyone else tries them. My wife had ribs to start and felt they were some of the best she has ever had. For the main I had the sizzling chicken fajitas and they were absolutely delicious and the portion was huge to boot. My wife had a steak for her main and was delighted with how it was cooked. For dessert we split this huge banoffi/meringue concoction which was absolutely delicious but unfortunately we could not finish it! The staff were very friendly and very prompt throughout the night and I would consider going all the way to Trim again just to eat here.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Franzini's recently. We made a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday evening. To our surprise the place was very busy when we arrived and we were glad we had booked ahead. Upon arrival we were greeted my a busy looking but also very friendly man who we assumed to be the manager. He brought us to a nice table and we settled in. There was a little delay in ordering but we didn't mind as it was obvious they were very busy. Once we had placed our order there was no delay in our drinks or food arriving. I chose the confit of duck for starters, it was served with a pear puree which complimented it perfectly. My Boyfriend chose the rack jnr, this was equally delish and was served with a honey and mustard dressing. For mains I went for the monk fish and prawns with noodles. I ordered a side of fries with it, but I shouldn't have, the dish itself was more than filling. He went for the pork belly and he seemed pretty happy with his choice. As we were both so full after our main meal we decided to just share a bowl of ice-cream for dessert and we finished if all off with tea for two. Our bill came to €66 which included a bottle of the house red. We were very impressed with all elements of the evening, particularly the value for money. We will be back!

A large group of us ate here today. We had booked in advance, and upon arrival our table was ready and waiting - always a good start. There was a buzz about the place, but not so loud it made conversation difficult. The staff were very attentive and speedy. Despite us making a colossal order at once, they handled it well and we were all served our food at the same time. Dishes were cleared promptly, and with every course we all got fresh cutlery - minor details but some restaurants can overlook such things. The food itself was generally loved - one or two minor complaints, but overall full bellies and happy faces all around. There was an element of portion size control - some starters were miniscule, some were colossal. I had Nachos as a starter, and upon finishing them barely had any room for my main course. Probably my own fault, but they were damn tasty and I couldn't stop. My Tiger Prawns Tempura were delicious but I was sadly unable to finish them off. Desserts, teas and coffees were all met with approval. Nice house wines too. It was tough to find parking outside, which was a downside. Overall, I would definitely come here again.
