This is one place I wont be revisiting. I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant- ever. I queued here and asked for their special of the day - which I was told would be another 5 minutes.... when I explained that I didnt mind waiting I was asked "would you not have something else as we are very busy?". If it had not been for the fact that my colleague had already got his lunch I would have left but I explained that I would rather wait. 25 minutes later I still had not received my food despite having paid for it- and having reminded several waitresses. I had no other option but insist on a refund and leave without having eaten anything. You wouldn't get service like this in a fast food restaurant! Absolutely despicable and I'll not be returning.

We were staying in the hotel and had vouchers for the Champagne afternoon tea. I have to say I was not holding out much hope, I expected a few stale sandwiches and a scone with some flat awful plonk! I am very happy to say that I was entirely wrong, the experience couldn't be further from my preconceptions! We had a plate of six different sandwiches, beautifully presented and then another plate of mini sized cream cakes which were yummy, this was accompanied by tea and coffee and a glass of passable Champagne. Wonderful surprise and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area, great light pick me up after a tour around the castle.

Passing through Trim on Sat afternoon we decided to stop for a bite to eat. We were turned away from a restaurant as they didn't open until 5pm, so we wondered up to Trim Castle. We were directed into the bar which was v busy & handed the menu. For EUR19.99 we got a gorgeous 4 course meal, the sirlons were excellent quality meats. Overall I was very impressed & would certainly return to the bar for food. The waiting staff are so helpful & would not rush you out the door once you had finished your meal. Highly recommend this bar for food!
