The West Bar & Restaurant 4.0 star review: My boyfriend and I visited this pub for lunch earlier this week. We didn't eat in the restaurant, we found a seat below in the bar. The staff were friendly and polite and there was a great choice on the menu. I had the Clew Bay Fish Bake which was absolutely mouth watering and the reason I came on to write this review, my boyfriend had a burger which was really tasty too. I would recommend this pub for both food and as a nice place to visit for an informal drink and a chat. I'll be back !!!!

The West Bar & Restaurant 3.0 star review: Lets just say I would not return to this pub for food as my one visit here was very disappointing. The staff were friendly and efficient but that was the only good thing about this place. We went here for Sunday lunch and both ordered a roast beef dinner, we waited almost 30 mins for the food to arrive which is slow in my opinion for pub food. When the food arrived it certainly wasn't piping hot and the plate consisted of 2 pieces of roast beef and a miniscule portion of mashed potato. Vegetables came in a separate bowl - we didn't touch them as we are not fans of auburgines & roasted shallots with a sunday roast!! Not a carrot or anything like that in sight ;) The bill came to 26 euro which in my opinion was a rip off and we were hungry again an hour later!

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
