The Brake 5.0 star review: I visited The Brake in Blackrock (Co. Louth) with my partner and another couple on Saturday night last. I haven't eaten here in a long time due to a previous bad experience, but it more than redeemed itself. There is a fantastic offer of €25 for 4 courses at the moment. For starters, we had pate, french onion soup and garlic mushrooms. For mains, we had the seafood platter (the best I have ever had) and steak. These were served with a choice of baked potato, croquette or chips. Dessert was pavlova, an irish coffee and two Baileys coffees. I think it is a great that if you are too full for dessert you can have a speciality coffee instead. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and the service was excellent. All in all, a lovely experience and one that I cannot wait to repeat!
