My partner and I stopped for lunch here midweek. The place was quite busy but we were not left waiting for anything. Food was fresh and tasty and we really enjoyed it. Will have to pop in to try out their dinner menu sometime soon! :-)

The wife didn't want to eat Skippy, so kangaroo was off our menu! Pork fillet in mushroom sauce was excellent, as too was the cod with Thai coconut sauce. Apple and pear tart very tasty with hint of cinnamon. Rhubarb and custard cake surprising (more a pie crumble) and very delicious. Cream was light and fluffy with an air of unreal. It probably was real cream but airiness makes me suspect, hopefully less calories! Glass of house red (shiraz) good. Coffee good too. No decaf tea available. Outside seating area overlooking Boyne a let down, its really just a smoking area but could be so much more. We were there 7.30pm Thurs and place practically empty, which didn't help with atmosphere. Was picking up when we left at 9. They should rehang the loo doors to open other side so you can walk in without having to open door 145 degrees first, spring doors would improve 'passing by' look too, nobody wants to see toilet bowls. We'll be back for food and service. Menupages and their own website both need updating to reflect opening hours and menus.

Great atmosphere, fantastic host / maitre d, great service, lovely selection of food. Tried crocodile and scallops for starter, kangaroo and ostrich for main, pear and plum crumble and chocolate cake for dessert. Excellent value bottle of red, 2 glasses white wine and double espresso, 117 for the lot. Encouraged to stay the night, no rush to give back the table. Live musician very good and not intrusive. Would highly recommend. Will be back.
