Susan Heraghty has long been central to Dundalk’s culinary scene, having masterminded The Hazel Tree before opening the sophisticated, end-of-street restaurant that is No. 32. Located in a leafy corner of Dundalk it occupies a site with windows all along one side giving it a sense of space while creating a relaxed atmosphere, a feeling accentuated by the smart simplicity of the decor and table settings.
Her restaurant is pleasantly mature, accustomed yet easygoing and her international style of food is handled with great skill and care. Menus are written in an admirably down-to-earth style and there has always been a terrific generosity of spirit here which is evident in the quality of food and service. Everything is just as delicious as it sounds (or even more so), service is good-humoured and efficient.
Ms Heraghty has been described as always creating places that are accessible in terms of price, service and food and No. 32 is like an old friend you are always pleased to see and spend some time with.

We visited No.32 on Sat 4th Jan expecting the restaurant to be quiet but instead the restaurant was full and the atmosphere was electric, food was excellent and great value from the menupages deal we bought in October...will definetly be looking out for this deal again

Music on the the menu in Dundalk on a cold winter evening last weekend. Cool Jazz combo entertained four of us while we enjoyed first class cuisine. €25 euro for a three course meal was good value. It was accompanied by a bottle of quality wine from Lebanon. Welcoming atmosphere, jazz and quality cooking banished the winter chill. I'd go again just to listen to the double bass and piano.

Had the most fabulous meal here recently. From the minute we came through the door at 7pm we immediately felt at home. A small initmate restaurant which has the most fantastic staff; Alvaro, our waiter, was brilliant; very professional, friendly without being over the top and very accomodating. The atmosphere is really relaxed with a lovely choice of music... Food was great... scallops with black pudding and blood orange sauce.... steak for main course... dessert was chocolate brownie with a shot (doesn't come with icecream or cream - but I asked for a scoop of icecream which was given complimentary)... no pressure to turn over table... if you live in Co. Louth and haven't been - you're missing out... can't wait to go back..

Went here for a family occassion. We were seated upstair which was actually really nice and had almost a homely atmosphere. We were offered two menus, al la carte and early bird. 3 courses for 22 euro really can not be argued with. 2 of us opted for the asian salmon and one goats cheese panacotta. For mains we had steak, hake and chicken. All of which was delicious and cooked to perfection. I didnt really want dessert so was delighted with the option of an irish coffee. The others had pecan and maple pudding which was suprisingly light and beautiful. Chocolate crunch cake served with a hot shot was also divine. Would definitely return

Brought the other half here the other night, he heard heard good things. We got the 3 course menu for €22...initially we thought the selection wasnt the best but decided to go with it. Goats cheese was lovely but unexpectedly cold...lovely though. Then the pasta dish...well it was a pasta dish...ive never had one worth raving about but i ate every bit. The desserts was where it all came together, crunch chocolate cake with hot shot...delish. Service was great, friendly and efficient waitress, very well presented plates and lovely decor. Great job 32!!! :)

this is a very intimate restaurant and sometimes it feels like the people on the next table are almost on top of you.
the menu is great and the food always selected, cooked and presented to a high standard, although it is higher in price than most comparable restaurants in the area, especially if you are on the regular as opposed to early bird special) menu.
service is always prompt and efficient.

Like so many restaurants I seem to go to, the food was very tasty but not memorable & overall not worth the 60 quid a head it cost me to go there. This could be great little restaurant you would go to on a regular basis if only it were priced a little more reasonably.

Living in Louth for a year, I was lucky to come across this restaurant and certainly made use of it during my time there. It is treat, and the earlybird menu is of particular value. I cant recommend it more highly.
