Beautiful setting, great bar, but nowhere to sit at bar and only enough seats outside bar for a dozen or so people. When we were seated we were given 2 menus for 6 people, we asked twice for more menus before they appeared. Food was excellent but service was slow between courses. It was very busy and staff seemed to be running around in circles rather than actually serving. Very disorganised and poorly managed, would go back again but not when its busy.

This is the nicest restaurant and the best value for the quality of food that is put in front of you! There is a lovely relaxed athmosphere in the restaurant and it is a homely feel to it. The food is soo soo tasty, I had garlic mushrooms for starter, Striploin steak with honeyroast veg and dessert sticky toffee pudding, all was soo yummy. You get loads of veg and they are the tastiest honeyroast veg. This is all for €25 a head! You will not leave the restaurant feeling hungry. We go here a lot because of the food and service

Myself and my partner ate here last Saturday night (not for the first time) and, as usual, the food was absolutely fantastic and lots of it. We have dined here quite a number of times as the 4 course menu for €25.00, 7 days a week, is great value. I never even look at the a la carte as there is such a great variety on the set menu. I had the Darver smokie to start (smoked fish in a creamy sauce) followed by the beef strogonoff (melt in the mouth beef). Himself had the garlic mushrooms followed by the duck, which he said was done just perfect. For dessert, we had fresh fruit pavlova and sticky toffee pudding followed by coffee, but by this stage, we were not fit to move. The restaurant was almost full, so I would advise booking. A man with a guitar started playing just after 9.30, which was nice in the background. I would thoroughly recommend Darver for a Saturday night meal. My only fault (and it's a small one) was that while the staff are very pleasant and efficient, I would like to have a bit more time between courses.
