It was our first wedding anniversary which had been held in the hotel. Really a bit disappointing - the menu was quite short 6 items per section, the usual suspects steak, chicken supreme zzzz. It was 8.20 and early bird was over at 7 so when my wife asked for an item from it she was told no. Oddly there was more choice on the Early Bird menu than the Al a carte. Anyhow I had the tomato and basil soup - good but v.spicy, and the duck - cooked well, too much red cabbage. She had fish cake with an odd salad - very short on lettuce mainly it was I think nettle (our server told us mint). For main she decided on the vegetarian option Goats cheese on Puff pastry slabs - rubbish i could do better myself. Dessert was passion fruit cheesecake - the best item of the evening. Overall uninspiring menu, questionable quality and definitely not worth €75 with no wine giving us the impression that the chef had taken the night off and left the apprentice.

just ate in 14 below for lunch. We were there before half 12 lunch and the place was quiet, although it started to fill up. I ordered the cod and my partner ordered the guinness pie - the pie was stunning. The meat perfect and tender and the flavours oozed out. I was disappointed that I didnt order it but the cod and fries were very well cooked and full of flavour as well.
hats off here, this was very good and reasonable priced food for lunch, a place to go if your in the area

This is high quality pub grub. The menu is very varied and offers good value for money. Portions are very generous. I recommend the singapore noodles and the apple tart! The coffee is very good too. Although it tends to be quite quiet in the bar midweek, the surroundings are very comfortable and the service is efficient. Oh, and the wine glasses are fantastic!!
