Visited this restaurant on a Sunday Evening at around 7pm. When we arrived it was very busy and we had to wait on a table. When we got our table (about 15 mins later) we were given the menus but our order was not taken for another hour. The food was lovely, two of us had scampi and one had fillet steak. We had onion rings and chips which were all lovely. The only negative was the long wait which was due to the large number of people eating and there didnt seem to be enough staff to cope. The staff were friendly and apologised for the delay. We will definately be returning here.

Visited here last Saturday night with my partner as I had heard reports that there was a new chef in residence and that the food was good. When we arrived, the only other people in the restaurant was a large group with a number of small children running about and making a lot of noise. We asked if we could relocate to the bar/lounge area and this was not a problem. This area was lovely with a number of other people also dining. We were able to pick between the bar menu and the a la carte menu, so my partner had a starter of slow roasted pork belly from the a la carte and the mixed grill from the bar menu, both of which he was very pleased with. I had the escalope of chicken in a mushroom and brandy sauce from the a la carte, which was tasty, but not remarkable. In fact, it tasted like a carbonara sauce because it had bacon bits. They were served with a choice of potato, so we chose the hand cut chips and they were lovely. Deserts, pavlova and apple crumble, were nice. Overall, it was good value for money, but there was no feel good factor, and apart from the friendly barman, I did not feel welcomed or valued as a customer. I doubt I will return as there are a lot of other establishments in the area serving great food coupled with great service.

Very nice restaurant with a wonderful ambiance. We were however very disappointed with the starters and desserts. The soup was very basic, tasteless and served with inedible bread. The desserts were poorly prepared and lacked both freshness and flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed the main course its just a shame the desserts were very unsatisfactory.
