Went here on the bank holiday weekend for a spot of lunche. Had never been to Carlingford before and loved the area. The views of this place made us go in. It was around 12.30 and very quiet, only a family of 4 in the restaurant. Ordered Steak for my other half and Smoked Haddock for myself. Food was awful. Steak was asked to be cooked med-rare but came out charchol, all you could taste was the burnt crisp. Fish looked greasy and if it had been cooked in dirty oil. Not nice. And the chips were the usual frozen stuff that were non-descript (how come restaurants don't do homemand hand cut chips?????). Plate full of chips but they werent nice. Was very disappointed as this was our first time in Carlingford and found the food very bad. I will be back to Carlingford but will hopefully find somewhere nice to eat.

This is a lovely restaurant, well away from the hustle and bustle that can be Carlingford village on a weekend night. I eat there fairly regularly, and have always found the food to be excellent. As you would expect, seafood is a staple, and in my experience always arrives fresh and in a generous serving. The atmosphere in the marina restaurant can sometimes be very quiet though, and may be a wee bit far from town if you were planning on walking to the pub for a few pre/post dinner drinks. However, the view from the restaurant over the marina and across the lough is beautiful. All in all, a lovely restaurant for a low key or romantic meal.
