I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and everyone in the group was so disappointed with the meal and the service. We got to the restaurant at 8.00pm and ordered off the a la carte menu. By 9.00 we still haven't got our starters and it was 10.10pm before we got our main courses. One person in our group had to send her meal back to the kitchen as she couldn't eat the steak. The only dishes that tasted ok were the fish dishes but most of the group had chosen meat dishes and were so disappointed. The service was very poor and no reason or apology was given for the delay in service. Noone in the group will be returning here again. It was so disappointing as we had been looking forward to having a good meal in a new restaurant.

Tried this restaurant following a friends recommendation- a disaster from start to finish. Table was alongside a boiling hot radiator which they were unwilling to turn off but moved us to a "quieter" table - Not so quiet as we heard the full volume conversations of the staff at the nearby barista bar. There were no vegetarian options on the a la carte and when asked, the waitress told us there was stew, curry or tagliatelle. She was unable to fully describe the dishes. We ordered stew and lamb. The stew consisted of potatoes, mangetout and carrots in a bowl of watered down tomato sauce - horrific! The lamb, ordered medium, came well done & very tough. My side order of veg, which the waitress said was to follow, never arrived & nobody checked on us throughout the course of our mains in order for us to complain! When I did inform the waitress, she appeared totally apathetic. The single desert option (not very a la carte at all!) consisted of 4 tasters to share. 3 of these were a pannacotta, an icecream and a mousse in shotglasses. We were told it was cheesecake but a few loose biscuits in the base of a glass topped with mousse does not a cheesecake make! Far too many creamy textures on one plate. There was a piece of rocky road too, which was like a stone. The pannacotta had a desiccated, aged, rubbery top. I can only imagine that the plate came straight to table from the fridge. When the bill finally arrived, the waitress said that the veg dish was rung up as the chicken dish. €19.90 for a bowl of veg in broth! No amends made for not receiving my veg side order either. Told the waitress we were not willing to pay that amount. She came back with the veg dish now at €14 and my €2.50 coffee on the house in lieu of no veg! Bill total €72. Totally ignored once the credit card had been zipped through. We passed two chatting waitresses as we made our own way to retrieve our coats that they had taken on arrival! No goodbyes on exit. Poor food. Poor service. Avoid !!

Fabulous venue, really cosy. I was surprised at the variety in the set menus. I ordered Risotto for starter and had sole for main. Both were excellent. My parter had the black pudding starter and beef. He enjoyed both immensely. For desert they gave us a platter of 4 desserts to share. The waitress was very attentive but not in a pushy way. I would hugely recommend a visit for high quality good value food.
