I was quite disappointed with this restaurant as I had read the reviews and was expecting something spectacular! However, the service was very poor , we had to ask for a jug of water three times before we got it. The food was only ok - I've tasted better

Enjoyed the food but the service could have been a bit better and staff could have been a bit more friendly .

My husband and I visit "The Spice of India" at least once a month and have been doing so for quite some time. We love the food, the service and the ambience. We sometimes try the early bird menu which is great value for 18.95 Euro each, 2 starters, 2 mains, Tea/Coffee and a beer each or half a bottle of wine. Where else would you get it?? You cant go wrong with any of the Chef's recommendations, we have tried them all and no complaints. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The Staff are excellent and very friendly and know how to treat their customers. Theres is a great take out service also available.

The food here was excellent. The staff were really really friendly and attentive. We ordered lots of food as we were both hungry but the portoins are massive so we were stuffed and couldnt eat it all. Food was very tasty though. Would definitely go back if im in Limerick again.

On entering this restaurant, it didn’t look or give an atmosphere of anything special but looks can be deceiving. Service was friendly and attentive. The wine we selected wasn’t available and a very suitable alternate was brought. Food portions are very generous. We like spicy food and we got flavoursome spiced Indian. The shared starter platter could feed 2-3 people easily. The Jalrezi excellent. We shared one portion of rice and one naan and it was more than enough. While finishing our wine after the meal, we were brought a complimentary drink – Tia Maria, Bailey’s and cream looking like a pint of Guinness in a shot glass :) and a plate of fresh cut fruit. It was steadily busy throughout our visit with both take away and sit down diners.

My husband and I went to Spice of Indian for dinner on a Sunday night, it was pretty quiet when we were there, so was no atomphere really but was fine. Service were great, very attentive and very efficient. Food were OK but we had better Indian in other places. The free dessert drink we got at the end was a superise - two small portion of baby guiness.

I had the chicken balti and pillau rice here last month. It was excellent. Really authentic food. The location was central which was good as i was staying in Limerick city center. The staff were friendly and the service was quick too. Recommended

My husband and I ate here for an early bird, we were expecting cheap and cheerfull for a 4 course under 20e but we got much more. It was not very busy but we didn't mind as we were looking for some peace mid week. the food was delicious and service exceptional with the waiter making subtle suggestions on side dishes to compliment our mains. We even recieved a complimentry drink at the end of the meal. We have often ordered take away from here but will be back to dine in again and have recommended to friends to do the same. Well done Spice of India

I love this restaurant. Indian is my favourite when it comes to ethnic cuisine and there are a variety of Indian restaurants in Limerick but in my opinion this one is head and shoulders above the rest. The menu is huge and varied, and the staff are so helpful and friendly. It is inexpensive and delicious, and if like me you have a taste for the hotter things in life you can go one further than the usual vindaloo with their phall - not for the faint-hearted! I highly recommend this eatery, enjoy.

Brought a friend here for lunch as a birthday treat and I must say I found the whole experience was really good, top quality Indian, no processed food here for sure, busy little spot for lunch too, which to be fair is always a good sign. I've been told their take away is as busy. Will come back for an evening meal sometime.

The food here is lovely! It was our first time here and the food certainly rivaled our fav Inidan! High quality food, lovely staff great atmosphere. We were there early so the place wasn't packed but there was still a lovely calm, relaxing atmosphere that we enjoyed! It's located right in the city center and was perfect for a quick meal after a long day! I loved the tikka masala while the korma was equally delicious! The variety of the rice and naan was great! Well worth a visit!
