This was my first time dining-in at The Mogul for a while.
We had booked for 11 for my birthday dinner.
The food was really good. The service for our large party was good.
A couple of things were - a lot of the wine and beer on the wine list weren't available.
I had rung two days before to advise that we were 11 instead of 10 but they had only 10 places set when we arrived.

Let me start of by saying this is the best Indian Restaurant in Limerick, and one of the best I have eaten in. I went here on Saturday the 11th, for my brothers birthday dinner. The Mogul is your typical Indian in regard to decor, carpet hangin on the walls, its like stepping back in time going in here. But the decor in this place has nothing to do with how good the food is.
I started with Mirch Kebab, this is chicken cooked in the tandoor marinated in black pepper and yogurt.
This was quite tasty and mellow tasting apart from the coriander ( I hate coriander I think it tastes like soap) only downfall was the pointless salad.
Next came the mains, Chilli Masala with Boiled rice and Peshwari Naan( Naan stuffed with almond and sultanas)
This was absolutely gorgeous, it was hot but not too hot and has to be one of my favourite curries, it ranks highly with the Chilli Masala at Indie Spice in Swords. The meal was beautiful and the guys who run it are very attentive to the customer, even going to great lengths to make a Korma less hot for my brothers girlfriend :) .
Another great meal in the Mogul, and their food still shows why they are the Emperor of Limerick when it comes to Indian food.

One of my favourite Indian restaurants, this place has exceptional value. The food is delicious, particularly the tandoori prawns if I had to pick one dish. The staff are always willing to accommodate changes and will cook something not on the menu on request. Also brilliant for takeaway and delivery. The restaurant itself could probably do with refurbishment but somehow that adds to the charm!

I always enjoy getting food here, be it a take away or eat in. The staff are generally very friendly and chatty and the food is generally very nice. The atmosphere can good but often is very quite. The Mogul is probably the best place to get an Indian take away in the city, it has the right balance of cheapness and tastiness.

we eat take away from here regularily and although we find the staff friendly and the service on the whole very good unfortunatley it has been hit and miss with the food as of late. it's almost like they have a variety of chefs and if only we could work out when our favorite was working then we'd never get a take away anywhere else as the food can be excellant.

Ok food and price but one very rude and ill-mannered waiter made certain that I'll NEVER SET FOOT in this restaurant ever again. I paid my bill and when my friend came back from the ladies she wanted to sit down for a few minutes and I mean literally a few minutes when this waiter came and said we had to leave as he was getting the table ready for other customers. There were empty tables and NOBODY WAITING!
Further more we were there less than 10 minutes after I paid the bill. Clearly I am telling all friends never to eat here and nor will I again. It is unfortunate that this extreme arrogant and rude waiter has spoilt our night. I hope the manager or owner takes note of this and trains the waiter in some basic manners.

The food here is ok. It is much nicer if you eat in than take out, but that is often the case with most places. The prices have gone up since the last time I ordered a take out- I only use this place as a variation and it is sometimes convenient for a collection.
Having eaten in on a few occassions, i have found the staff very nice, pleasant- the head waiter/ maitre'd is an absolute gentleman!
I like their onion bhajis and pakora. Their bombay aloo is great and has plenty of potatoes.
The house wine is good and cheap, and the decor is typical of an old fashioned indian restaurant- gilted picture frames, and sconces. as it is a very large room.
All in all, I would give it 3.5/5

I usually go to their other restaurant in Ennis, I got a madras from the limerick 1 & have 2 say it was watery & wasn't hot at all. If u like the Limerick mogal, please try the Ennis mogal{same owners}....try the tandoori prawn starter, ther soo addictive. yum
