3.5 Dim Sum 3.5 star review:
If you decide to call in for a quick bite to eat, do not expect it to be quick. It is anything but. Service was extremely slow even with a less than half full dining room. At one stage I thought our meal was being flown in from Hong Kong & even resorted to checking the arrivals info for Shannon Airport. However, the complimentary large glass of wine that my Wife enjoyed did help matters.
Prices are reasonable enough up front. That is until you see the portion sizes, well this is certainly true in the case of the starter, could definitely done with more meat sung - which, I was told was for 2 people, but still did not settle me when the minuscule dish arrived. 'The best of things come in the smallest of packages' certainly true as the starter was fantastic.
Eventually the plane landed and our main meals arrived via airport transfer no doubt, and they were delicious. Well worth the extended wait - only just. I was a bit dubious about accepting the inclusive coffee as I did have reservations as to whether or not a trip to Columbia or Kenya was about to be embarked upon by one of the staff to procure said coffee. However after only a few minutes 2 okay coffees arrived without the 1 hour delay in customs.
Staff were friendly enough, which made up for the awful background music choice & drab decor.
Plenty of on street parking as Dim Sum is probably one of the most centrally located city eateries in town.
Would I return & part with my hard earned cash again, yes - but not without clearing the calendar first though.
Give it a try - and definitely sample the Chilli Oil, Very tasty.
