The Good Room Cafe, Adare

The Good Room opened in March 2008 from being a derelict building to a cafe in a few months. Located directly opposite the Dunraven Arms we are the first stop in Adare. No stranger to famous faces either we've served breakfast to Niall Quinn and his family. Made coffee for Ruby Walsh. Gave lunch to Aidan Quinn,Dana, Marcus Horan Alan Quinlan and many golfers Rory McElory to name one!! Were open 7 days a week; Monday to Wednesday 9 to 5pm, Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 9 to 5.30pm and Sundays 11.30 to 5.30pm. The ambiance speaks for its self. You can smell the baking from out in the street and as soon as you walk in you don't want to leave. We cater for breakfasts of all kinds from a full Irish to a yogurt and fruit granola compote. Lunch starts at 12.00 and runs until approx 4.30pm every day with our daily special changing there's always something new to try. Everything is available for takeaway and we happily take phone orders. We have a wide selection of homemade desserts on display which are also available to buy whole as well as our wholemeal brown breads and quiches!! We pride ourselves on our home baking. Everything is made fresh to order, we cater for any needs or requests. Passionate about our table service and value for money. Our coffee is Bewleys fair trade and were constantly complimented on its smooth flavor and our latte art of course!! Full range of herbal teas (loose leaf) and even have a fresh mint tea with lemon which is very popular. Popular with mothers and babies we have lots of room for buggy's and supply high chairs etc... We also value local and regular customers and have a loyalty scheme in place on coffees.

Met up with a friend here for a mid morning chat. A welcoming smile on entry, always a good sign. Lovely interior with original paintings & warm atmosphere. A choice of scones - plain, sultana & berry served with cream & homemade jam (I think). Coffee is excellent & served in big cups. The Moroccan Mint tea was elegantly served & was freshly made with actual mint & lemon infusing in a tall glass. Impressed with the place & will be back.

I love this cafe but i think their food is quite overpriced. It has a nice atmosphere and is always busy, the staff in their are friendly, but it has to be said that the woman who owns the place wasn't very friendly when we were in there or helpful. They're desserts however are delightful and i reccommend this lovely cafe for lunchtime or a coffee.
