Home cooking at its best. Jim cooks here himself and the food is locally sourced and excellent quality. Simple food, cooked well.

This place is a must for everyone whether its for a breakfast that will result in you not eating for the rest of the day or if you opt for thee most beautiful lunch which consists of hot food with a fabulous choice of salads and various types of bread to also choose from. If you're lucky enough to have room left you can have beautiful homemade desserts and coffees to choose from. There's a great homely atmosphere in Jim's and having been here a couple of times i love when they have classical musicians playing in the corner - beautiful around christmas and of course theres a quirky shop attached where you can purchase breads, jams, cakes, cheese and lovely treats for friends and family. Everyone needs to stop here when their in Portlaoise , its a Gem!!!

This is an absolute treasure. It one of the best cafes-delicatessens I have been in. The food is devine. I had lunch here while I was on business, I had the most beautiful salad, and a stunning dessert, homemade apple pie. The service is incredible, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I could not fault it at all. The selection of cheeses and oils in the deli are also excellent. I could have spent alot longer looking around it. It is a must if you are in Portlaoise.
